aside from the whole discussion of...WHY?...for transmission adaption there are some companies that can make adapter plates to mate up transmissions to motors that have no business being there.

 

In SoCal there is a company (or was a company, its been a while) called MechTech that made adapter plates for motor tranny connections. I would say pick a tranny and give some company like that a call. Pick one that can take some abuse and have fun!

yeah i was thinkin i would be better off swaping but i figure ill just stick to building my motor tbi then gather mpi stuff till i get it all. is there any thing special i should do to my motor. i would like to get the most out of it tbi. i would like to possibly rev to 6500 or 7if i can still make power with tbi setup

this is the dakota tranny with the right bell on it and a bit of the bell housing

 

There are actually two different bells for the 2.2\2.5. Left is the A535, Right is the AX15. The AX15 bell is the correct one for this swap.

87-92 Supra Turbo 5-speed and yoke

 

94-95 Dakota 2.5L bellhousing, throwout bearing, slave cylinder and fork

 

94-99 AX-15 Front bearing cover

 

You'll need a 21 spline clutch disk. Might be able to match up one from a Toyota V6 truck
