There aren't many starions for sale in my area so I'm just here to test the waters. I'm in Southern Cali, Los Angeles county area. The closer to stock the better because I don't want to ruin anybody's work and I prefer to start from scratch. I'm in college with a low paying job so my budget isn't sky high. New cylinder oil rings are very close the limit

I purchased the Beck Arnley ring set from Rock Auto about 5 months ago. I am now installing the rings. The No. 1 and No. 2 ring are tight so I hand filed them into specification of .3 mm for the No. 1 ring and .25mm for the No. 2 ring. Now the oil rings and the oil ring spacer appear to be too large. The oil ring gaps are measuring at .038 in which is very close to the .039 in limit. I tried different rings in different cylinders and the result is similiar. The original stock ring is meau
