Good, solid ,running 88 and up stick or auto (its for her) worth 3k needs to be in good shape interior wise and can have faded paint ect but no rust and no signifigant damage..... can be stock or slightly modded

I might buy an 86 Quest to save it from the crusher. The car is almost complete, minus a few things. Its missing the entire engine harness and the turbo. Currently the front fenders are off and the front is disassembled. Should I return this thing to stock, by putting in another 86 harness and stock turbo? Or should I go and swap in an 88/89 ECU and harness along with the rest of the fuel system. Is it worth it? Are the gains that much more than running it stock? The previous owner says
