  2. I am selling a 1988 Starion that has an engine with 0 miles. I bought two cars from jonboyb, and one of them is gone already, so here is what you are getting: A Solid body with little or no rust that I can find, yet unfortunately got hailed on. I didn't receive a black hood with it, so it has the silver hood. The car has been in a garage for the last 4ish years. The engine was built by jonboyb and has many new parts, including a new crank. It has never been cranked as far as I know, but has been in a shop since I have had it. The previous owner had installed a V8 into the car, I have reinstalled a stock engine. You get a complete engine wiring harness with the car. I have a good bit of parts that go with the car, two transmissions, extra starter, some turbo parts extra 12a and a S16G, extra cluster, extra injectors, etc. Look at the pictures. I know I am going to take a big loss on this, but I need this car out of my garage, I don't have the time or money to fix it. I have all four Starion wheels that have fairly new tires on them plus a brand new tire of the same type. The two mismatched wheels are off a 300ZX, lol. This car does not come with everything needed to get it running unfortunately. You will need a radiator, intercooler and piping, and a driveshaft which I seem to have lost. I have 2k in all this stuff, I don't expect to get that for a car that doesn't run, so I will start at $1500, mainly because of the engine. I would prefer to sell everything at once to one person and be done with it. http://s63.photobucket.com/user/starion76/slideshow/Starion%20FS
  3. So my old TD05/18G was on its last legs, it served me well but was obviously messed up and having trouble making boost, and smoking from the rear section. Prior to the 18G I had a Super16G that I liked a lot more, so I decided to go back to that. I have a pile of cores and remembered the deal mentioned on here about a year back about a shop in FLA called Mike Turbo. Mike Turbo have deals on Mitsu rebuilds/upgrades running around $450 for a TD05/Super 16G upgrade. A guy named Hong worked with me and was very knowledgeable and professional. I bit the bullet and sent a core out for upgrade. I splurged and added the TD05H exhaust wheel upgrade, requiring machining out the rear section to fit the bigger wheel in there. Total cost was about $600 for everything including the upgrade, still pretty cheap. Turbo came back super clean, media blasted. Only my brand new 14G looked this good when I got it. http://waste-nj.com/d2/super16/s16whole.jpg TD05H wheel stuffed in there... http://waste-nj.com/d2/super16/s16exh.jpg Super 16G Compressr wheel in machined housing... http://waste-nj.com/d2/super16/s16inlet.jpg A better look at the machined out exhaust side... http://waste-nj.com/d2/super16/s16exhclose.jpg Side by side with the TD05/18G, the difference in the ehaust wheels is obvious! The outlet is about a 1/2"-3/4" inch bigger than the regular TD05. If you want an exact measurement, the OEM metal downpipe gasket that is bigger than the stock ehaust outlet, is the exact same size as the TD05H outlet. http://waste-nj.com/d2/super16/s16pair.jpg So once I got in installed, the car was night and day from before. The car's personality is more raucous, instead of building up gradually and peaking around 5K, the car makes boost more violently and doesn't want to stop pulling at 5K. The blow off valve sounds like I blew a hose off, the inertia that this turbo carries when you spool it up just makes the regular TD05 exh wheel feel undersized when matched with a 18G or Super16G front wheel. I highly recommend the TD05H wheel, and Mike Turbo Inc. BTW, The car has mechanical lifters and a stck mech cam. http://www.miketurboinc.com/
  4. Ive been searching on google to figure out which turbo would better suit my goal, which is achieving 300whp on TBI. Some say the 16g is capable of such power, some say its not. Many say its achievable with the 20g but needs much more supporting mods than the 16g will need. Also in most of my search, its said the 20g will lag much more, getting full boost between 3500~4200rpm, but these figures are on a 2.0 liter motor. The G54B being a 2.6, will these figures be different in terms of hp and boost lag? My car will be used more on the street as a daily, also frequently on the track doing time attack, auto-x, maybe some drifting, about 4 to 5 track days a year....maybe more. Rebuilt G54B motor (stock) CX racing fmic & 2.5" piping 1G MAS walbro 255lph fuel pump tomei FPR rebuilt stock injectors (flow tested and cleaned) full 3" exhaust big 16g turbo (which I already have) Apexi SAFC II Is 300whp achievable with the big 16g @15-20 psi with these supporting mods? Im really on the fence as to which turbo to go with since alot of people say they're both good streetable turbos

I have and 89 Quest that has started smoking. Its not blue or white its black like a diesel. When the turbo kicks in its worse. Would it be the turbo or something to do with the waste gate or some thing hooked up wrong. Don't know much about turbos. Please help thanks
  8. Hi All, I also have an aftermarket intercooler that I THINK is a direct fit for the SQ. It MAY need slight modification, I purchased it from Spencer (gtxthunder) a few years back and never used it so I don't know too much about it. All dimensions are pictured and it is a straight fin style. Asking $350 http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/steve7672/IMG_10071_zps8e2562ec.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/steve7672/IMG_10061_zps6f573076.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/steve7672/IMG_10051_zps61fcc4e1.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/steve7672/IMG_10041_zps855f7d9f.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/steve7672/IMG_10031_zpsfe21eb24.jpg Please let me know if you have any questions
  9. I have a 1986 Conquest TSi 2.6 and the wife ran the car without oil and blew my turbo. I sent it to Bouch and they said it is unrebuildable. Now I need a replacement.....How do I know which turbo I need?
  10. O.K. I have a turbo, alleged to be a Big 16g? Measurements as follows Intake Side Impeller Wheel: Outlet Diameter: 60mm/2.360 inches / Inlet Diameter: 44.5mm/1.74 inches. Exhaust Side Turbine Wheel: Outlet Diameter: 48.98mm/1.924 inches / Inlet Diameter: 55.75mm / 2.195 inches? From what I know, it doesn't seem to "quite" match the specs I have on anything? Any help appreciated, Thanx
  11. Currently trying to sell my 89' Conquest. (It has a wiring problem that I don't have the time, skill, or money to fix.) 73,XXX original miles. Very little rust. It's a little dirty under the hood but everything is solid. Half broken Air Dam.(Hit a raccoon) Link to the Craigslist posting http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/3957186205.html Feel free to shoot me a pm with any questions. Thanks, Scott.
  12. So I had a secondary injector stick wide open on me. Caused her to die and had to be towed. After I diagnosed the issue I went to the boards and thanks to BOSTON overnighting me one at a more than fair price I was back in business after a few spill and fills of the oil then a filter change I took her back out for a test drive. Got about a mile down the road, heard a metallic noise and she stopped making boost. Limped her back, removed the charge pipe and found the compressor side of the turbo dug into by the impeller shaft. It happens I know but DAMN!!!!!!! I have another used stock turbo In the interim (have to rob it from my multiport project) but where should I go with buying a new one? I was looking at TEP's t3/t4 with ball bearing upgrade. Any suggestions from you guys out there that have upgraded your hair driers? Thanks for any and all input. Nolan
  13. I'm parting out the engine and transmission of a 88 Conquest. Odometer shows 69,xxx miles. The engine was still full of nice green antifreeze. I bought the car not running, so condition is unknown. I was told it needed a starter. When I pulled the engine, it was missing a starter bolt allowing the starter to move away from the block and flexplate. Oil was old but was not milky. Turbo a little dry but manually turned smooth. Now for some prices. Long block $250, Intake with injectors $75, Turbo $75, Distributer $50, Intercooler $40, Transmission $100, Auto Shifter with linkage $50, Alternator $15 Radiator $50. Shipping is not included in the prices listed. If I did not list something you need, just ask. I have all parts right now since I'm doing a V8 swap. Thank for looking! Scott

  20. Ok I have a 17c for sale. I just got this turbo a few days ago. It came on a G54b that i purchased. Im running my 20G so this is not needed. It does not spin freely but after speaking with a few turbo experts it should be still ok since the motor i bought it off of was sitting in a garage forever getting rebuilt. It has no shaft play what so ever. I think that the previous owner possibly rebuilt this turbo since ive seen the time he put in and the condition of the engine. I put my 20g exhaust housing on it because im using the polished exhaust housing from the 17c. The 20g exhaust housing has a crack around it of about 3 inches. My car did not have any exhaust leaks with this housing that i could hear. (surface crack) The Compressor is fully polished and the compressor itself will actually spin around when hooked to the exhaust housing. (not sure why). Someone could have this turbo rebuilt if they are unsure with it but my bet is on that it will spool fine as soon as it gets some warm oil in it. Has no waste-gate actuator on it or lines minus one oil line!. The numbers on the front of the turbo are TR J6 S 17C. The exhaust housing numbers are 0080 D2 34C 13400. This turbo will bolt to the factory manifold! I see they go for about 500ish. So im looking for about half of that to be fair and account for a possible rebuild!. Looking for $175.00 SHipped!!!!
  21. So I have this black box next to my fuel injectors that has a vacuum line atached to it and then it has a large metal tube that goes behind the valve cover and ataches to the exhaust coming out of the turbo. What is this. Any advice would help. I cant post pictures right now but will try again in a bit.

  24. Just excited, had to share, As some of you know, I've had some bad luck with turbo parts during the last year or so. I picked up an (unknown condition) 12A from a member a few weeks ago for $25. Cleaned it up and ordered a rebuild kit (16G Superback Kamak kit $59) and a new Kinugawa 16G wheel ($59). I called Jim and Gerry at GPop shop and told them I was doing the rebuild myself, but I'd like them to machine my 12A parts (CHRA and Compressor housing) and Balance (just to be on the safe side). I got a quote from them for $125 machining costs, and $65 to balance... then $18 return shipping was added for a total of $208.00. They inspected all of my parts and called me to let me know everything was in perfect shape to proceed. I was totally stoked to find that they had also completely rebuilt the turbo for me after they were finished (it's an easy job, but still, I told them I would take care of it to save myself a few dollars) The way that this was packaged was very nice (Bubble wrap/Kraft paper/ peanuts, and really nice closed cell foam made to fit snugly over both open ends of the fins. Total I have in a brand new 12A to 16G conversion is $351.00. If any of you are contemplating their services... what are you waiting for? Top notch work, and really nice guys to chat with on the phone. Willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Great experience in my book, hopefully it performs the way I'm hoping it will (I'll post about that after the holidays when I install her) Here's a few pics of their handywork... however, I think I may polish the compressor housing before installing to make a little extra "bling" like SOTTY http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03057.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03049.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03052.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03056.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03048.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC03046.jpg this sounds more like a feedback topic, but I just wanted to share some pics and my experience using them for my turbo project. -N8
  25. SOLD!!!! Hey guys, had this laying around and I'm upgrading to 16g so I won't be needing this one. If your 12A is tired or you're just looking for a really nice backup in case yours takes a poop, this is it, and at half the price of a used "rebuild candidate" 16G. All of the necessary parts were replaced with genuine OEM Mitsu parts. All of the housings have been cleaned/media blasted (glass bead) and cleaned in the parts washer. The center section was powder coated metallic black and the exhaust housing has been media blasted and cleaned up as well. This looks and spins like a brand new turbo! It hasn't been installed so filling and priming will be necessary when bolted on, however everything internal was polished and oiled during the build.
