Just picked up a Yugoslavian/Serbian sks M59/66 A1 in decent shape, (looking better now that I am starting to get all of.the cosmoline to leech out of the stock). All numbers appear to be matching with exception of the gas tube. Paid 320 at a local gunshop. From research I think it is about. 1970 model, can't wait to put some rounds down range. Anybody eles have an SKS? Pictures to follow. When i first brought it home http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/SnookRyan/IMAG0531.jpg http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/SnookRyan/IMAG0530.jpg After baking the stock in the oven for a few hours to get all of the cosmoline to sweat out, then scrubbing with murphys oil followed by a few coats of linseed oil. I thought about sanding it down but i think the discolorations and dinkgs give it character and shows itsw history. http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/SnookRyan/IMAG0552.jpg http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/SnookRyan/IMAG0553.jpg
