    From the album: Misc

D2s on a flatty, stock ride hieght and stock 215/60/15 tire. The stock spring perch was just clearing the shoulder of these tires by a 1/4" With the D2s at stock hieght, the tire is entirely within the threaded tube region of the coilover.
  3. Hey StarQuestClub, my names Taylor and I'm the proud new owner of an 85 Starion! I bought the car in Victoria, BC in August after my Integra decided to take a dump. I had never seen nor head of a starquest when I saw the ad on craigslist but fell in love with it as soon as I went to see it. She was originally from New Jersey and was imported to Canada a few years back. I have found a couple other quest owners here in Canada, but I'm wondering if there any other flattys here? She also has an electronic dash and stock louvers. The factory paint job was reddish orange with silver accents apparently, but its blue now (possibly Fiji blue, but I cant tell for sure). It has 145000 miles and is in great shape mechanically. The timing chain was recently tightened and the radiator was replaced. The only problems are peeling clear coat on the roof and door, no A/C belt, no antenna, and seized e-brake cables. Also the FPR is zip-tied onto the TB and a couple vacuum hoses are sealed with wires twisted around them lol. The only mod is a K&N filter. I plan on leaving it completely stock and just increasing its reliability until I am done school (2 more years of mechanical engineering left) since its my daily driver, and after that turning it into a beast since I'll have the time and money. Right now I am on a co-op (internship) in Edmonton, Alberta so I am trying to prepare her for the brutal Alberta winter (it can hit -40 Celcius occasionally). So far I have winter tires and a 250W oil pan heater, since I couldn't find a block heater. Anything else that you guys can think of? I've also installed a kill switch in the ignition circuit and hidden it because the key is stuck in the lock cylinder. Sorry for all the blabbing, picture time! http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/706/d5qa.jpg http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/69/bsgb.jpg http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/542/s2k9.jpg My girlfriend loves it too! http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/513/6bvj.jpg The dollar store pedal covers came off immediately, don't worry http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/46/qpsc.jpg http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/811/g2eq.jpg Engine bay when I got it http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/850/eyoz.jpg Engine bay after cleaning and painting heatshields. Does anyone know the procedure for taking off the over-valve-cover pipe to paint? I am just worried because it looks like there is some liquid gasket goop where it connects to the compressor outlet and I don't want to destroy the seal. http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/18/o7ie.jpg Im pretty sure this isnt stock... looks exactly like star wars typefont lol http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/811/5rhm.jpg
  4. Those of you who are on the Austarion site would have probably seen my ride by now but here it is: When I bought it the motor was seized, Stock as a rock on cut springs: http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/JBFlattystarion.jpg I rebuilt the motor with some mild goodies including TD05 turbo, MPI manifold, Mildly worked head, Balance shafe delete and had it fully balanced. I also re-sprayed the engine bay and just about every single component in it and mounted the intercooler in a better spot. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/image-2.jpg http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/DSC_0581_zps74ev3quw.jpg I've since installed Coilovers and resprayed it and here it is now: http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/IMG_20140417_170022_zpsf5y8bsbn.jpg http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/IMG_20140514_135751_zpshp9qvnbb.jpg http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/JB%20Starion/IMG_20140514_140013_zps8zcosewj.jpg http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd504/niss720/DSC_1052_zpsf23a088f.jpg

  7. At least I'm presuming it is a flatty since it is a 1985 (no pics). Link: http://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/4054751069.html Ad: 96tck-4054751069@sale.craigslist.org Posted: 2013-09-08, 5:43PM EDT 1985 Mitsubishi Starion / Conquest - $1600 (Sarasota, FL) Selling a 1985 Mitsubishi Starion sister car to the Chrysler Conquest. It is an inline 4 cylinder turbo, 5 speed manual, REAR WHEEL DRIVE! Vehicle does not run at the moment, but turns over fine. It has a complete new ignition system from the ignition control module to the spark plugs. New injectors, TBI seal kit, Injector pigtail clips, fuel filter and a couple other little things. I suspect that the problem with it is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I don't have the special tools to check half the things I need to figure this out. I don't have the time to mess with this anymore and I'm also out of a job so I need money. The interior is in VERY good condition for a 85. No cracks in any of the panels including dash. Steering wheel is in GREAT shape and this car has the sport package leather seats. All electronics work in the car and are original. This car goes for this price on ebay in half as good condition. Could fix it and have a great fun little car or part it out for about 3 times as much as I'm selling it for. Call 941-TWO 32- SIX 416. Ask for Richard. I am willing to show the car anytime.
  8. Hey guys, I have a pair of double slit b-pillar side vents. They came off of a black 85 Starion. They are in very good coniditon, with the exception of faded paint. No cracks or chips. I have no idea what these go for so I'm asking $100 shipped. I'm always down to trade, so offer up (interested in Starquest and old Toyota goodies). http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/nfelge/null-130.jpg http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/nfelge/null-131.jpg PM me for more info/pics -Nick
  9. I purchased an 86 flatty about five months ago and it had a few issues at the time of purchase. There were exhaust leaks around the turbo assembly and it was running rough. What I mean by rough is that it would crank up and drive, but it had very little power, and seemed to bog down when I got into the throttle. I did a few basic things like fix the exhaust leak in the muffler and changed out the plugs, distributor cap. It didn't really run any better. I asked around about a suitable mechanic to work on my car and decided on a tuner shop here in town. Went by and discussed my Conquest issues with the owner and about a week later took it to the shop. They fixed the exhaust leaks around the turbo/exhaust manifold assembley and determined that the rough running was due to a bad distributor. Replaced the distrubutor with a remanufactured one from auto zone. I went up to the shop and the technician told me that it was running great, when he went to start it up for me, no start. They continued to troubleshoot, off and on for a few months. The the tech that was working on it got fired. I finally went and got the car last week and brought it home. It still doesn't start. So....my thinking is that the first place to start is where the shop left off. The distributor. If it at least ran before they replaced it, and now it doesn't, the possibility that I got a bad remanufactured distributor. So I am in the process of checking into that at the moment. I have an chilton manual for the car and will post as I go through the troubleshooting process. Any wisdom or suggestions as far as troubleshooting would be much appreciated.
