IT WOULDNT LET ME POST THIS IN THE FAQS AND HOW TO SECTION SO IM POSTING HERE LOOKING FOR HELP I have some 92mm je forged pistons i am trying to sell and have a potential buyer set up... they buyer wants to know specs on compression ratio, but i know nothing about them other than brand and bore size( got them with a parts car and dont have nothing to use them in), only two markings on them are 92m and je, is there any way to determine the compression ratio on them without having them installed in a engine? they potential buyer says je charges 75 dollars to identify pistons and i am hoping to get them figured out to make this sell, any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Hey guys, I did a compression test this morning and got just over 120 for the front 3 cylinders and 135 for the back. I then added a tsp of oil to each cylinder and let it sit for 10 min. The following numbers were, front to back, 135, 125, 135, 148. The only catch is, since my engine doesn't run, it was a cold test. Spark plugs were all out, fuel injector clips were off, and the gas pedal was all the way down. 5 cranks per test. Am I right in thinking it needs new rings and a new head gasket? Thanks

I just replaced a head on my g54b. I am new to the car. The Timing chain, guides and tension-er are supposed to be recent. My uncle has been driving it for some time with the new sprocket, chain and such. He blew the head gasket and it had several cracks, so I replaced the head. Started it up, everything sounded good. Idled it for 30 minutes, playing and adjusting. Put it on the road (putting around) and the first time the turbo started to increase pressure, it jumped time. I have 2 questions: 1) Why? I set the can sprocket on the sprocket holder and never loosened the chain. 2) It jumped ONE tooth. Would I have bent valves. I ask because the compression is a little over 90 now (with the chain realigned and it was 50 before it was re-aligned)
