He had several of these makes and models. He loved these cars. He took very good care of it. He moved to CA when I was twelve and left it for me, covered, in my grandfather's garage until I was old enough to drive. My parents sunk enough money into it to get it running, inspected, and registered. I drove it for a couple of years. In the first year it was in an accident (right front, see photo). I found a piece online to replace the damaged body section and had someone put it on. I continued to drive it for another year. However, I am not committed enough, or knowledgeable enough, to put in the time and money to make it worth while. Took it off the road in 2011 when I went to college. I've moved on to more practical vehicles. It's been sitting in the garage ever since. Looking to sell it to someone who has more of an appreciation for this vintage automobile. I'm sure it will take some work to get back in shape, and I have no desire or purpose to sink anymore money into it. I charged the battery, started it up, and drove it in and out of the driveway within the last week. So it definitely still runs. 12. well I still have a crank case pressure problem. it is blowing like a old school locomotive steam engine. Can a cracked head cause this problem? PCV is working properly. car runs great. I need to do a compression test. i unhooked the crank case vent hose. i started the car. i plugged the crank case vent hose with my finger for a few seconds. when i released the pressure it exhaled like old faithful. concerned and don't know what else to test.
  13. i need to adjust the Turbo XS Bov. it seems to bee way too tight. i know the BOV has washers and spring tension but whats the proper way to adjust it? car is running 20 PSI and it does not seem to want to open i get some turkey gobble as if it was not there like stock turbo'd car. i opened the BOV and noticed 4 washers in there. how can i determine the proper amount of washers to use? Thanks for the help.
  14. PCV and rear valve cover crankcase vent question i seem to have an excessive ammount of fumes and or oil coming out of the rear vent on the cover. usually when first started after a while it goes away but there is oil coming out the hose. i read this article and think it has some good info and i am looking to buy a catch can. with all the stuff benting i dont know if this will even help. http://www.dsmtuners...-system.366890/ my car didnt have a catchcan when i got it. i will be buying another but was thinking of using an air injection pump to evacuate the crankcase rather then the turbo intake pipe.An y thoughts or sugestions? how much pressure comes out of the crank case?

  18. it seems that after all my effort to save the head threads has come to an end. to sum up I tapped the holes the studs came loose. Then I heli coiled them and the studs came loose. taking the manifold off messed up some of the heli coils. I removed them and now have trouble trying to replace the heli coils. the only thing left is to possibly try and install 10mm studs or get a new head. not sure what to do.

  22. i have been chasing a miss for a few weeks now. it all started with changing the plug wires and rotor and cap. the plugs , rotor and cap fixed my miss when under boost at WOT. but now i have a miss at idle and cruise. after 2 weekends of messing around and checking all that i can. including every ground i can find. i think i have it half way resolved. i replaced all the vac line from the T where the cruise control is to the t-body. i noticed the White Check Valves near the wiper motor do not seem to move smoothly or freely. thet seem to take A LOT of effort to get them to move. once they are blocking the vacuum it takes a ton to get them to open again. shouldn't they move easily with no force?. I tested them out off the car with clean hose and the suck test. on a side note i believe the GM MAF is also causing some issues. i need to get another one to test with. i will be doing the TPS reset tomorrow. too dark out. i did test the TPS with an analog meter and it sweeps just fine. i tested the ISC per MIKE C instructions and it seems to be functioning properly.
