  2. I'm going attempt to rebuild my engine! I've purchased a bsek, full gasket set, head bolts, water pump, fuel injectors, wires, plugs, coil, cap, rotor button, rod bearings, and all hoses and belts. Anything else I really need to get while I have the engine out and apart?
  3. Looking for a "new" engine for my '87. Would prefer a built engine but would consider a low mileage stock engine as well. Also if I don't come across something I may consider a rebuildable core. I do not need the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, or turbo. Somewhere near North Carolina (NC), or within reasonable driving distance would be preferred.

  6. I have a complete G54B with turbo. Comes with alternator, a/c compressor, and power steering pump. I have stock injectors from an 85 and 2 trilogy turbo 850cc injectors from an 86. Looking for $450 obo. Must pick up or pay extra for shipping. I also have another complete G54B available for part out.
  7. Please forgive me if this is a duplicate. I thought I had already posted this but cannot find the original post. I am doing a Gen III 4.8 LS base LR4 swap in my 88 conquest. That being said the motor and tranny are up for sale. I really dont want to break it up so if you offer to buy something separate from the two combined please bee sure it's worth my wild . The engine and tranny will come with whatever you need. Wiring, ECU, shifter, etc, etc, etc... The only thing that will remain stock is the rear end, wheel shafts and interior. I am actually thinking of changing the instrument cluster so I may sell it to the right buyer. I may also be willing to sell the digital climate control cluster as it will probably no longer have A/C anymore. Wheels and tires are for sale as well. If you want just the wheels which were just sent off to Cali and refinished about 5 years ago I'll take $500. They are the factory staggered set. If you want the tires to remain they literally have less than 500 miles on them. Kumho Excsta's. Wheel tire combo will be $900. Anything engine and transmission related I want to keep together as it is a good running motor and tranny. Anyways, forgive me again if this is a duplicate. Cruise, tilt, A/C, Auto, T-Top $5K 2. 1994 Indianapolis 500 Edition Pace Car Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible (Interesting fact. In 1994 to build customer interest the 1000 Indy 500 pace cars were the first 1000 mustangs to come off the assembly line) Loaded, leather, Mach 460 Stereo (Still awesome by today's standards) It's a 5.0, GT40 heads cobra. The only thing not stock is a $1200 Bassani exhaust and MSD Dist. cap and rotor button. (Still have both originals that will come with the car) $15K 3. 1991 Honda Civic CRX Si. No rust, couple pings, and interior needs some TLC. $2.5K 4. 1983 GMC S15 High Sierra 4X4. 57K original miles. It is a 2.8 V6 with 700R4 Tranny. I Replaced EVERYTHING that goes bad sitting as it has been sitting for the last 12 years. New Brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank removed and beaded clean, new belts, hoses, transfer case switch, 4wd actuator, vacuum lines, interstate battery, transmission filter and fluid, rear end and transfer case oil, New tires (Kumho Ventures), repainted entire interior. There is a spec of surface rust just beneath the gas filler cap, and the hood has some tree residue on it (I think it can be buffed out). If interested I have video of the car running, forward and reverse to check tranny and the drive down the street to the garage I am doing the motor swap at. I am parting out 3 starquests 2 are 84's and 1 86 all do not have engines but i have alot of extra engine parts and such but all of them have transmissions plus i have a ton of extra parts in my garage.   9. I'm selling a complete engine and transmission out of an 88 Starion with 88K miles to make way for a 2JZ swap. Turbo needs to be rebuilt and the starter is not included in the sale. It's located in West Palm Beach area and I am willing to ship at buyer's expense (typically $200 for engine and tranny).   10. Hey everyone, I am looking into getting a starion and was wondering if an engine swap would be worth the trouble if I got one. I was originally thinking just doing a 4g63 swap, but then I heard about the de-stroked 4g64, which gives 2.1l displacement and around an 11000 rpm redline. Would either of these motors be worth the trouble or should I stick with a g54b starion? The other option would be dohc g54b. Also if anyone is selling a starion, let me know please. Thanks.
  11. im looking for a good condition oil pump for the g54b turbo iv been looking everywhere around where i live in Oregon and cant find the turbo oil pump all i can find is the na oil pump which is not the same i found out so let me know what you guys have thanks
  12. i took my g54b to get machined for the rebuild im doing and when i got it back there was 2 allen head plugs that came off the block somewhere i found out the bigger one goes on the back of the engine but when i try and get it tight i cant get to flush with the block will that be a problem and for the smaller one i cant find where it goes i have been looking everywhere in the forums and online and i have checked every square inch of the block and no luck can anyone tell me where the small plug goes its driving me crazy i would really appreciate it thanks

Ok so I'm going to try my best to explain this to the "T". it's a 86 starion esi-r When I bought the car you had to pump the throttle constantly to keep it running and it would not rev passed 1800rpms, if you tried to hold a constant rpm with the throttle it would bog down and die. My first reaction was the fuel filter was clogged.... Easy fix I was wrong haha. I limped the car to a friends shop and started digging. I change out the fuel pump and filter just to make sure it was getting enough fuel ( the old pump was weak). I didnt see the "pre-fuel pump" filter/screen so I assume someone has already been there to replace the pump. After all of that it still doesn't run right at all. The car starts up with out any problems with in 2 seconds of cranking the car is running, but it idles soo rough like it needs a good tune up( which has been done I will add a parts list at the end). Now it kind of idles on its own and I can drive it but when I drive it sometimes bogs down and I have to let off so it wont die. It will buck and bog and start building boost also. While trying to hold a steady speed lets say 60mph it bucks and feels like a huge miss but when I checked the plugs the shows that it's burning all the fuel like normal so it's not a mixture issue, the timmong is set to 10 btdc. The old owner said he went to go eat and went inside and when he came out to leave the car ran like crap and limped it home. I'll try to post a video of it as well. Parts list ( stuff that has been replaced or tested good) New fic 850cc injectors New plugs Good ngk wires maybe 3000 miles on them New cap New rotor New fuel filter New fuel pump New o2 sensor New maf All new vaccine lines (replaced one by one to not mix them up) New coolant temp sensor The car had a oil change in Cali at 77,300 miles it has 78,100 on it now so this problem just happened. Any help would be great!!!!!!!
  16. soo, first off, FIRST POST, woooo ! 87 widebody mt conquest. second off, my car is in dire need. i bought it for 1500 about 2 months ago, with 108,000 on the clock. hard crossover pipe, and some crappy (but not leaking) BOV changed sparkplug wires, plugs, cap, rotor, blaster two coil. oil change, k&n filter (had no filter prior) turbo pcv valve rebuilt throttle body, new injector clips, vacuum advance, fuel filter. dropped fuel tank and installed new stock pump. tank had rust hole on top, patched with chunk of metal and rtv. put power steering fluid in system. ( i ******** up.) built 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with ebay muffler. 3 inch ebay downpipe., no cat. so it developed a tick at low rpms, thought it was loose timing chain, bought timing chain kit, bse kit and head gasket and bolts.but i ******** up and didn't get an oil pump gasket, so i used rtv, and let it cure for two days. assembled together, started first try, but now it knocks really hard. sounds like top end, but not sure. also, i suspect bad compression dude to poopy-tail piston rings. i'm like 90% on that. but i ran out of funds, and i'm an idiot with a 24 year old DD. any help would be amazing. i pulled off the rocker set and checked the lash self adjusters, three were seized solid, and one is like blown out. it is noticeably floppy, and not smooth or anything. whats the deal with these? fix, replace? i have a very limited budget, and little time. and thanks everyone in advance! pics soon.
  17. I have for sale a g54b short block. Like an idiot I ordered this thing expecting a different engine and didnt ask for pics. Now the seller has stopped communication. So, I need to sell it as I have no use for it and need my money back. I was told that this has about 50k miles on it and judging by the cross hatch on the cylinders it cant have much more than that. I know that it spins freely and looks great. I would be comfortable with dropping this right in. I am located in New Mexico. I have it crated and ready to ship as you can see from the pics. Hello my name is Nathan Vinson, im from keokuk, IA there isnt much of a car scene here except for me and a couple of my friends, at the moment I have a 1987 conquest TSi that i bought for 1400 from a guy in Davenport IA it had some vavle train noise but it wasnt much of a concern tell i started the trip back. but when i got home it got a little worse so i pulled the valve cover off and seen my timing chain is a little loose..... so a small fix. also realized that it doesnt have stock injectors last night so im gonna have to pull them off today and check them out. i do have some interesting things goin on though.... for example. my wipers are unpluged from under the hood so i plugged them in and they stay on at all times.... lol and my headlight come up fine but if i turn them off they dont go down but the light turn off heres the funny part if i hit the on switch for the light enough to engage it the go down?!?!?!? have no cluse what thats about. also my heat heating/fan gauge stay light on but dont work when the car is not started but when i start the car it doesnt light up and it blows COLD COLD on my feet only?!?!?! like i said have no clue wth is going on.... so help on that would be great.

Greetings, I'm here because it is my understanding that there is a Normally Aspirated fuel injection used on the Starquest vehicles, and I am interested in swapping that onto the 4G54 motor I currently have in my truck. If I find a good donor car I would like to swap in the whole motor, as I'm sure it'll have less miles than my Raider which just turned over 335K miles yesterday! The carb setup is shot, and rather than rebuild it, I want to replace it with EFI.

  23. looking to buy a good G54B 2.6 short block. mine has a good size crack in the head mating surface. not wanting one to rebuild... want to bolt on my head and accessories and run until i can afford the 2JZ swap. located close to Florence Alabama would be a plus. thanks.
