HELP I'm Still Lost... About a month ago I wrote this about my stock 89 TSi. HELP... I’m Lost I have a ‘89 TSi. I’ve had this car since it was new in ‘89 and maintained everything stock. I have usually been able to find and repair any problem my car has had. But I am totally lost on this one. The car seems to skip or some might say hesitates. It starts easy and seems to run fine for the exception of this skipping. It started a few weeks ago and seems to have gotten progressively worse. This is a list of things I have already tried: Put in new plugs Put in new plug wires New Distributor cap and Rotor New Vacuum advance Changed out mass Air unit with my son’s working TSi Changed out ECU unit Changed out Igniter Changed out injectors All vacuum hoses are in good shape Tested coolant temp sensor Any ideas?? Has this happen to you or something similar? HELP... Since then I have been making the repairs you guys have suggested. I have done the following: Put in a different Distriutor, TPS, ISC Servo, Replaced all Vac. Lines, Redid the Intake Manifold, I have good injector clips, No bad signals from the ECU output. and passed the state emission testing. I am still Lost... MikeC had suggested to reduse the gap in the plugs to help find problems in the Distriutor or injectors. Very interesting thing happen. The problem didn,t change at all but you could really tell it was making the miss, I could hear it in the secondary air cleaner by the value cover. The problem only seems to happen between idle and 2500rpms,and after I have backed off on the accelerator, running around town driving. If I punch it runs fine. Any other suggestions??? David
