  1. Pretty sure that the gasket holes are supposed to be covered. I don't recall seeing one where they are open Dad
  2. You can swap rocker shafts and arms between heads, just have to be sure Hydraulic rockers shafts are used with hydraulic lifters, the head castings them selves can be used mechanical or hydraulic.
  3. Pretty sure it's 5/16 or 8mm. Don't crucify me if that's wrong, I have one in my desk to put in mine but I'm 1200 miles away from it at the moment Dad
  4. I really enjoyed the visit, Never thought I would get to meet Shelby, until my son Bill (Coldscrip) accepted a job offer in Gainesville Florida. I flew to Iowa then drove the Uhaul to Florida, staying a few days, checked the map and saw that Shelby was about an hour away. Made the call and had a great visit, I'm so glad he is doing better. One thing I can scratch off my bucket list! Dad
  5. Exhaust valves in the turbo engine are listed as satellite faced and non turbo valves are not. It's in the catalogs I have seen.

  7. Double nut them, actually you just run them down finger tight.
  8. Not quite that easy, but certainly not 100 ft lbs of torque
  9. You have more issues if your bolt broke trying to turn the engine over.
  10. I'm available if needed Dad
  11. Lost a trailer tire not even 2 hours into the trip, Back on road with 4 new ones Dad
  12. Heating them made them harder, seek out a tool and die shop with an EdM that can burn them out, sometimes not even hurting threads. Dad
  13. What day you peeps rolling in? We have Thursday planned. Guess il be the first trailer queen there with the 83
  14. My Bad, sorry I didn't know. Congrats to all involved. Dad
  15. Scotts tune did the job, Great to see some nice numbers. Dad
  16. Later years used different head gasket. both will work.
  17. I prefer the fel pro kits mainly because I have used them on our own cars and I know what is and is not included in the kit. I have seen so many times people ask me for misc seals and gaskets that weren't in their kit such as crush washers for piston nozzles or o/rings for oil filter housing etc. Other than that most kits are decent, head gasket would be the main difference Dad
  18. That's not bad, half day Tom.
