  2. yes it still for sale the price is now 700 dollars which includes 10 + plastic bins full of parts and and body parts. The engine starts and runs good but the turbo dosn't kick in. the turbo seams fine no slop but because of Parkinsons I dont work on cars any more I will only keep it on the market for 2 to 4 more weeks then I will sell it to a wrecking yard or send it to the crusher. Mark Thompson 206 276 9072 call me
  3. Yes it is still for sale the price is 800. I don;t have a way to tow it to San Deigo at this time The car runs but the turbo wont spool up . The engine has 50,000 miles and seems to be in great shape. The turbo seems to be good with no slop in the rotor so I think there is something not hooked up. { will try to get you some pictures of it but I am not very good with the computer. Mark 206 276 9072

  5. Why are you looking at mounting the rack in the rear position? Mounting it infront of the crossmember is not to hard. I put a volvo rack on the front of the crossmember using part of the crossmember off the volvo. next I took the knuckle arms switched sides and turn them over. then it is a mater of changing tie rod ends and hooking up the steering shaft. 6. Yes the 3lt V6 will fit ion the Quest . The engine to use is the one in the Montego which comes in the 3.0 to 3.5 lt . The two problems are hooking up the trany to tjhe engiine. I think that the standard trans , will accept the quest gears. If not a standard trany may be a problem. But a auto trany for a 87 or 88 and newer D50 Montego , and some nissan and toyota's can be used. The bioggest problem is the computer that operates the ejngine , it has a 10 to 20 sec, full throdle limitation where it will limit the ignition to just short burst of all out power.
  7. Another bumper that looks good is the 83-85 Supra ft bumper . I have a couple of pictures with it on my Quest. But I don't know how to send them. Mark T
  8. If you want rack and pinion steering why not change to a mustang II front suispension . much easier to set up much easier to to put bigger tires in front allows you to open up engine compartment . Food for thought. Mark T
  9. I am very interest in where you are going to start the widening of the ft fenders, I have looked at the two seams and tryed to figure which one to start the wideding process. I am thinking that the lower one is where to start the curve. But it is by no means the only way. For my car I have decided to go with a Mustang II front suspension hot rod assy. This will let me put a rack an pinion steering and will allow me to remove the sheet metalaround the strut assy for more clearance for the engine and make more room for tires and wheels. Mark T
  10. Is that air vent from a BMW? Going to a solid rear end was a good idea makes the rear end simple and strong without a loss of cornering. And a front end with uneaqual A arm suspension solves a lot of problems. Mark T
  11. I have been thinking about putting a V 8 in a Quest again, and have been toying with rack and pinnion steering. I was looking through car mags looking to make a up my mind as to which engine , when I came across ads for Mustang II front suspension kits . They do several things for a Quest conversion . First they move the cross member forward and elimate the steering behind it . The rack is moved to the front of the cross member. They also remove the strut suspension with Unequal Aarms a much better suspension and allow removal of some of the strut area which opens up the engine area. So with this kit you get rack and pinion steering , more room in the engine compartment , and a better and eisier to adjust suspension. They seek to run 1100 to 2300 dollars, which is not too bad considering all the problems it solves. Mark T
  12. First did you clean the paint with a prep solvent to remove all the wax ,oil and other oils that are on the paint , before you start to sand. If not yo are sanding the wax and other oils into the sanded area. and before priming clean again, and don't drive around with bare primer as it will pick up oil and you have to do it over again. 13. I have used and recomended Ngk's since 1969 when we raced sports cars. We had the use of a machine that read the heat range of racing plugs, and theChampions were the worst Quality and the heat range was all over the chart It usually took 4 boxes of plugs (40 plugs ) to find 6 that were in the correct heat range . These plugs retailoed for 12 bucks each in 1970. and if they had, not given them out for free we wouldn't have used them. They were gold plated , real gold. Mark_T
