  1. Um, thanks, but I posted this in August 2013. I made the mistake of buying a C4 Corvette the following January when I couldn't find a SQ (an ideal one turned up in Orlando 2M later) and have listed the Vette here as a sale/trade.
  2. With minimal effort and cost you can title it in Vermont, get a registration card, drive it for up to a year, and then title it in your state. The linked site is for bikes, but applies to older cars as well: This is not a scam, it really works and this is how the places that charge hundreds for lost-title cars do it: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=655441
  3. Yes, still available. It has started going into reverse better as I've used it. It's gone in every time the last few times, it's just an effort.
  4. It's actually a win/win for you in Knoxville. Here's a $900 new ZF6 transmission nearby: https://knoxville.cr...4651291425.html If you're serious, I'll cover $500 of the cost to ship it from here to there, which should be 100% of the cost. http://www.uship.com EDIT Uship estimate $457. If you let some bids come in you'd likely get it for under $400.
  5. I made the mistake of buying this car in January. Of course about 2 months later the SQ I wanted turned up for sale about 200 miles away. I'm looking to trade it for an operable SQ, prefer: Blue/yellow/white/red/black exterior Black or possibly tan interior Really want a sunroof but may consider a solid roof NO MAROON INTERIORS!!! No rust bubbles/holes/frame rot Must be a manual transmission car Must either have working AC or all parts there Clear title ready to transfer I'm over the Corvette. The main issue it has is the ZF6 manual transmission won't go easily into reverse. I replaced the hydraulics (master & slave) with new Dorman parts and that didn't fix it. The car is operable as it sits, but in reality the trans should be replaced, about a $2K job. You can usually find a used one for about $900-1,200 if you can DIY. I've got the car listed for $6,500. Similar models are going for $8-9K+, so I figure this is in the ballpark with the cost of someone else doing the trans. Looking to trade even up for a really nice SQ or my car for yours with some of your cash. This car would be a great swap candidate for an LSx and T56, but the original LT1 runs really great if the trans issue was fixed. If serious, reply here or PM me. Here are the details and some pics: 1995 White coupe Six speed manual trans (see description) About 154K miles Black interior, gray seats (see description) Clear FL title in my name Has been garage kept since January Located in the Tallahassee, FL area I bought this car in January from Ohio and had it shipped to Florida. It ran great and the PO had extensive records for it since 2003. I've put about 2K miles on it and thousands into it (see new parts below), and the more I've used it the less I've liked it. In the past few weeks it has developed a grind going into reverse. I replaced both the clutch master & slave and this did not correct the problem. Records show the entire transmission was replaced at about 77K miles. The car starts & runs great. Cold AC. Antenna, cruise all work. I've decided it's time to cut my losses and get rid of this car. Will be glad to have it shipped at buyer's expense, that's how I bought it. 6. Looks like another great find, and it's good that you have plenty of room to be "out standing" in your field.
  7. Too bad it wasn't FS in Janauary. Wonder if the seller would like to trade for a Corvette?
  8. On that style of ad, click on "Reply" and it will take you to contact info. CL has apparently taken some anti-spam measures, such as blocking out phone numbers unless you click on them.
  9. That helps a lot, thanks. 19" would be a good fit. Refoaming & recovering Corvette seats is like $1,000!
  10. I'm looking to put some better seats in a C4 Corvette, which has really narrow (about 20") seats that mount low. One of the candidates is the SQ. I need to know mainly how wide the various ones are- i.e. 87 vs 88/89. I searched & found a thread here for the 88/89 ones that said roughly 21". If anyone has a tape measure and can get some exact numbers for the widest part of the bottom part, how high it is from mounting (floor) to top of the seat cushion, and the total height, this would be helpful. If they will fit, then I'm looking for a pair of black leather seats in very good condition.
  11. There are some tips for selling your car in my signature below. One thing that is fairly universal about forums is that new people are not usually trusted- especially new people that joined to sell something. Copping an attitude will likely ensure your car won't sell here. The more info you put out in your post, the fewer questions you'll need to spend your time answering. If you enjoy "Hey man, does it.....?" then by all means keep the ad as short as possible. It's also helpful to post how someone is to get in contact with you- unless you are selling on Craigslist, where answering the phone/replying to inquiries is the exception rather than the rule.
  12. You're welcome, good to hear you may have it sold. I ended up buying a Corvette.
  13. Yes, hence the "MI" after Flint in the thread title. That's the postal code for Michigan.
  14. I suspect it may have some rust based on the location & photos. The engine bay is not blue, so it's a repaint. 17. I found a trick to the LS style internal slave cylinder was to run a remote hose for bleeding. It takes a special fitting to do this, but it makes service much easier. As I recall, the Supra setup used a GM truck style bellhousing and fork. I deleted my build info from 2006/07 on it after I sold the car. I went with the TKO trans for a few reasons (it does cost about as much as a T56), one of which was it enabled a cable drive speedometer and also the electrical speed output for the GM computer.
  18. That is a trick flywheel. I used a TKO600 behind the LM7 in my Supra. As I recall, I used an extended pilot bushing to make up the difference. One issue may be lower HP/TQ ratings for the older manuals, plus no double OD, but the lighter weight of a SQ would help to offset the former.
  19. You can edit your original post, this should keep people that don't read beyond it from bringing this back up. The edit button is towards the lower right of the post.
  20. I'd suggest emailing the seller per his original post, that was how I got the pictures I posted.
  21. Here are some pics I got via email, it is a beauty:
  22. This is not my car, I'm uploading to host these pics here. This is a 1989 Fiji Conquest FS in Texas. The seller's (as of January 2014) email is richardmitchell58@yahoo.com
