I'm also watching the auction. If it goes for under $15k, I think it's a steal!

I have a home made unit that I like to use, but a mityvac will do the job too. If you are careful. The reservoir that comes with those is not real large and if you accidentally suck brake fluid into the vac pump it usually dies pretty quickly.

I didn't even notice the manual belts! What's the deal with that? JDM didn't get the power belts in all late models ??
-
Odds are pretty good it has DOT 3 in it. From the sounds if things, you should take this opportunity to flush the brake lines too. Then you can be sure. Brake fluid will suck moisture from the environment and eventually rot from the inside out.

I don't think that's a bad price. The pictures look kind of off though. Paint seems hazy or it's just bad pics? 72k miles, RHD and that cool checkered interior. PLUS it's not red đ

Relocated my battery to the hatch, so whatever battery was on sale at NAPA that day. Super helpful, I know -

Brake Light & Turn Signals Not Working?
psu_Crash replied to jeffball610's topic in Newbie Question and Answers
I had an issue years ago where the 3rd brake light was intermittent. After a little research it was just those contacts on the hatch strut. Cleaned them up and all good. The rear defrost also goes through those contacts. -
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The factory coolant temp gauge comes right from the sensor. The other temp sensor goes to the ECU. Sounds like you just have that unplugged. I'm not sure what color the connectors are. I assume you have downloaded the factory schematics? The connectors all have names there. The ECU you have should be setup to control the stock fuel pump relay. OR are you attempting to bypass that relay with the painless kit? The new ECU may have input for a knock sensor, but you would still utilize the factory (or aftermarket) knock sensor. That connects to the knock box to pull timing when knock it detected. I don't believe it connected to the factory ECU at all. I'm a little confused where your problem lies, but it's early, I'm still on coffee #1.

I hope you all had a wonderful day with friends and family!

Now that you mention it, the last blades that I put on were a bit looser than I would like. I bet I'm in the same situation.

I seem to remember some people changing out the wiper arms. Can't tell you much more though

Justin (Coke) has a set of the aero covers. I know it took him years to get a good complete set.

I agree that it is more likely to hurt than help. Glad you figured it out ... now I'm thinking $#%^ where is that part for my gold car
-
I run those too, but my car doesn't see much street time unless it's a nice day. They were bought for autocross and for that... excellent! NC as said, those tires are just fine
-
fair enough. I can't get into the other car as it's all masked for paint. Or I'd take a look.
-
Just went out to look at the car and that switch isn't currently in the gold car. I can tell you I have the same metal tab with a threaded hole and nothing in it. I have to ask, are you sure you are putting the right switch back in?

Why do I need the passing control relay?
psu_Crash replied to Mike7447's topic in Newbie Question and Answers
I'm guessing by this point you have just bypassed it an moved on? I'm also curious to see if it has any other functions. Good find on the harness plug! I have done similar things, even when checking wire colors ... that don't really resemble the original color anymore. -
No headlights, TS, Brake lightsâŠfog lights
psu_Crash replied to Mike7447's topic in Newbie Question and Answers
I have the electrical diagram printed out and pasted together to make it "easier" to follow. I'll take a look when I get out there this morning and see if I have any pointers on a probable cause. Edit: Stating on page 178 of the electrical section in the service manual, it shows the ground points. Although I'm not seeing one called out for the headlights right away. -
I think the last I saw he had some listings on Ebay... but that has been a while ago.

Just how quick can the north can destroy a car. ( an autopsy)

Mine occasionally makes remarks too. So far I have always won the battle against stubborn vehicles, go karts, quads, snowmobiles ... etc. Did it cost more than expected and take WAY more time? ... 80% of the time! She knows I'm just too stubborn to give up. She has also learned that if the welder, tap/die set is out and/or the cut off wheel is running unexpectedly, now is not a good time. Come back with alcohol The amount of people I know who pay for silly repairs just blows my mind. Guess I just grew up with a good set of friends and family. I'll be forever grateful for the knowledge I learned on grandpa's farm and from my Dad as a kid. That kind of life experience is few and far between these days. Open a shop though? O HELL NO! I'd lose it on these primadonnas.
