I still do. I tried Firefox and had all kinds of problems. The wife tried to get me into Chrome too, and I didn't care for it much, so since IE had always worked fine for me, I went back.

I got the IRotors setup on my car and the wife's and haven't had any issues. We even used their kit for the Grand Am we used to have. Before their kit, I was eating OEM pads and warping OEM rotors every 9 months. Got the Irotors kit in 07, and never had to touch them again. I sold the car to Mingo a year or so ago, and just a couple months ago he was saying that he needed to find new pads. After almost 7 years, that isn't bad, especially for a car that used to need brakes every 9 months LOL.

Enthusiasm for days! If we all had half the enthusiasm he has, there's probably be a couple dozen SQs hitting the show circuit on Convette's level. That said, I skip some of his posts for a couple reasons. First, because many are extremely hard to read, and I try not to give myself headaches from thinking too hard LOL. Then there were a couple posts where it sounded to me like he was bragging about all the parts he finds, work he does on SQs and it just sounded to me like he was some awesome person because he saved some parts and helped some people out... A lot of people here do that, myself included. That doesn't make me or anyone else any better than the next guy. Granted, those posts were also in threads where people were mocking his grammar, so maybe he was just on the defensive. His posts were difficult to read, so it may just be that I misunderstood what he was trying to say, too LOL.

Yeah, he was definitely missing a zero. You can't even buy the chunk of billet for $800. Then consider dozens if not hundreds of hours of CAD, programming and machine time... all at over $100/hr.

Geo Metro 3cyl. MPGs FTW!!!!

You'll want to get those D2s asap. I think there's only a couple more sets left, and D2 will not be making them anymore. Wait too long, and your only option will probably be to buy them at a premium from someone who got them but didn't install them.

Those are pretty good prices. You might want to consider more clear tho... You'll want 2-3 coats at least, and 3 coats uses about 3 quarts for me. Most times I just get a gallon and use it all which is 4 coats on a SQ. I spray heavy coats tho.

I love where I'm at. Most of the bad storms that would bring flooding, hail, or the rare snowfall start in about Austin and go north from there, so we miss most of that Because of that we're also too far south to be in "tornado alley" According to a website I found, we had a better chance of seeing a tornado where I lived in MI than I do here. We're close to the Gulf, but still a couple hundred miles away- far enough that most of the BS that comes with hurricanes dies down by the time it gets here. The biggest issue here is heat. For a couple months we're usually around 100 for highs, sometimes a little bit higher. Even then, it's a drier heat than I had in MI.... I think the 98 degree 99% humidity days up there are worse than our 100 degree days, but they don't have as many of those days as we do dry 100 degree days. I'll still take the heat over the cold. Everytime I feel like complaining about the heat, I remember what it was like in MI to breathe in and have your nose hairs freeze together... all of a sudden, it doesn't seem so hot. When we moved here I was worried we might see some of those crazy storms, but it hasn't been bad at all.... Just 300+ days a year of sunshine and warm temps.

I've used that stuff a few times and had really good luck. It's pretty easy to use, turns out nice and seems to last a long time. I painted a 71 GTO with it back in 06, and from what I hear, it's still looking good.

StarQuest sighting at Jesse Bethel High in Vallejo

Fog and rain close to saltwater coasts are saturated with saltwater. Living near saltwater is the next worse thing behind living someplace that salts the roads. -
Shelby, I'm sure he has a tape measure, but doesn't have a car with a 2JZ swap to get the measurememnts off of. Once he has the measurememnts of how that motor sits in an SQ, he can use his tape to see where that falls into place in relation to the motor mounts in the non-swapped SQ, then can figure where that engine would sit in a Might Max, in relation to it's motor mounts. Then he'd know if a 2JZ would hit the MM firewall or rad support. At least that's how I took his post.

What about rigging stuff that worked but isn't the "right" way to fix it? Had a 92 Dakota. The steel gas lines up by the engine developed a little rust and some pin holes broke thru... basically spraying jets of fuel on the exhaust manifold. It was a rust bucket, so all the solid lines were rusted together so replacing one section meant replacing all the sections. Those parts cost more than what I had into the truck, so it was time for some creativity. Smeared a little JB weld on the outside of the line where the rust was and let it sit overnight. It fixed it great! Not even so much as a drip of gas. That was back in 05 or 06, and I talked to the guy I sold the truck to about a month ago, and it's still going strong, 25k miles later.

Yes I did. I didn't reply, because I just really don't have much spare time to chat about my old job and such. Taking care of baby, taking care of 8 months pregnant wife, getting things ready for the new baby, and trying to keep up with my biz doesn't leave me much time.

Should they have chosen a better beer.

It couldn't be sold east of TX due to some agreement with Anheiser Busch. -
If my in-head metric to standard conversion is right, that's just a little thicker than 1/4". I got a big sheet of 1/4" neoprene rubber gasket that I use for SQ tail light gaskets. It has adhesive on one side and works really good for all kinds of seals. I got a bunch because I wanted to do my cars and was going to seel some replacement gaskets too, but then Natallica started selling non adhesive ones, so I didn't bother. If you need a piece, I'm sure we can work out some sort of deal.

There's a dude selling one on Facebook for $20, but the cover is ripped off.

http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91803 Aside from that, it is my understanding he's out or getting out of the SQ game. He's been slowly piecing out the remainder of his stock, and all his spare SQ parts on Facebook. He has moved on to Hyundai and Kia.

19 to 70 is a pretty big difference. The city I used to live in is having their 2nd snowiest winter ever this year... Broke 110" last week. It think they usually average 50-60" I was joking about the global warming comment... didn't mean to start a debate on it. I'm neither a scientist or a hippie, so I'm not worried about it.

I saw the $5000 mentioned... if you're looking for a high end European luxury car at that price, you're looking at something at least 10-15 years old, and over 100k miles, if not 200k. Any car like that no matter what make will need some work here and there, and parts are extremely expensive. Some makes are more reliable than others. For instance, I wouldn't even consider a Jag or any other British car... They're probably the least reliable and parts are crazy expensive. Benz and BMW can be pretty reliable, but even reliable cars have parts that wear out, and their parts are crazy expensive too. Take my 98 S420 Benz... The rear suspension is some crazy hydraulic self leveling system... It went out on the previous owner, as many do at over 100k... Cost him $4k to get fixed. The parts alone were over $2k. Many of the parts can only be had at the dealer or specialty European sources.... You can't just order them up from RockAuto or AutoZone. Simple parts even can suck... 3rd brake light bulb in the Benz went out. It's a specifically designed bulb only used in a few Euro cars. Local auto parts stores not only didn't have it, they couldn't even order it. Dealership wanted almost $25, most places on the internet want $15+, cheapest I found it was just over $10. For a freaking 3rd brake light bulb. Most bulbs like that for other cars can be had for $2-3 at auto parts stores, WalMart, hell, even your local corner gas station, probably. I know you said no VW/Audi stuff, but if you MUST have a European car and are on a budget, they are the way to go. They are as reliable as any Euro car, if not more, and their parts are easier to get for more reasonable prices than other Euro cars. If you do not like VW/Audi from past experiences with them involving parts prices or reliability, then you will NOT want a BMW or Benz, and will contemplate suicide if you end up with a Jag. If you really want a luxury car and only have a $5k budget, I'd say look into the Japanese luxury cars. $5k can get you a pretty nice Lexus, Infinity, or Acura. They might be pushing 10 years old and 100k miles, but they will be more reliable longer than most Euro cars, and when they do break, the parts are gonna be a hell of a lot cheaper than anything from Europe. For that matter, unless you want a make that is known for luxury, you could look at cars like the Nissan Maxima and Toyota Camry... basically cheaper Infinity and Lexuses... You could have the same features and get more car for your budget... You just wouldn't have the "status" of a Lexus or Infinity badge. I love my Benz, but I would not have gotten it if I was "buying" a car. A guy I do work for owned it, but had many cars and didn't need this one anymore, but had a couple trucks he needed painting. I was looking for a 4 door luxury car to haul kids in, so we traded. I've got about $1500 in materials and a couple weeks labor into those paint jobs.... not bad for an $8k car. I also checked the common problems, and went thru his repair receipts and saw all the common issues had already been repaired, so I went for it. Otherwise, I just would have gotten a $4-5k Lexus or Infinity

We made it up to 72 early this afternoon (Sunday), before the cold front moved in. Less than 10 hours later, we were at 30. I haven't seen temp swings like that since MI. I remember once up there, we had a 50 degree change in less than 6 hours. So much for global warning.

Good advice. Personally, I will only let a couple tow companies touch my cars, and if it gets towed anywhere, it's going to my house.

Eh, not my style, but mad props to the guy for going for the look he wanted and doing it well.

Still trying to compare GTI's to Z06 corvettes? I love WV's too, but you've lost your damn mind. You're trying to compare apples to cheeseburgers.
