My 1988 conquest has oil pressure but the dash reads zero. While looking for answers I seen that the culprit might be a faulty oil sending unit because I have oil leaking from around the oil sending unit. My question is two parts 1. What would it take to change the sending unit & 2. Does anyone want to part ways with there working extra sending unit?

I found a dimmer/ color control dial mounted in my conquest and I wanted to hook it back up. Does anyone know what fuse location the interior lights are on? If anyone has one installed on there starquest let me know if you like it or any problems you have ran into installing.

Best of luck with your repairs. Im in the same boat but my car registers zero ats and maintains zero but it idles, runs, and doesnt show its getting hot?? Keep us updated, I'll be reading, troubleshooting and comparing just in case I might be missing something.

Hope that helps someone! I do need help figuring out the wiring for the fans. I tried looking for info but found nothing so sorry if its covered in another forum topic. The problem im having is when the key is on the accessories setting 2 of my fans kick on but my 2nd puller fan is not turning on even after longer trips. I tried energizing the fan but that stops the other fan from working and puts the energized fan into a crawl. Last thing to ask is anyone else motor burning hot after a few minutes of driving? I plan on testing oil pressure (the needle reads zero) but on the dip stick it shows there is oil and the leaks from some parts (oil pressure sender) seem like that shows flow of oil. It was a bad connection at a spliced connection near the fuse box that I hadn't seen before. Also the previous owner had a mess of fan wires and general wires stuffed near the battery so i cleaned them up and boom, she started right up. The previous owner is a student at one of the big automotivehttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png schools and it was pretty clear that he was in over his head with this one but I haven't gotten to the bottom of the barrel yet still plenty to do.

After a week of testing I finally found the problem! Cars back up and running woot woot!!!! time for a beer

Hello, I have had my conquest tsi for a little and I really love it but recently its been giving me a few problems and now it wont start. When I bought the tsi it had visible damage to the drivers rear panel, the previous owner said it wasn't affecting anything so no big deal right? Wrong. Lol. So I was driving and under acceleration it seemed to hesitate so I turned around and started heading home then bam!! Car dies, no sputtering or warning. I got it towed home pulled off the tank and wouldnt you know it the neck to the tank was severed and the fuel pump stopped flowing (probably from the lack of vapor/ fuel). I have since then dropped the tank on both my conquests and and swapped the fuel pump from my '86 --> '89 along with everything else that needed replacing. Now this is where I'm stuck.. I can hear my pump turn on now and i put gas in the tank (half to a 3rd of a tank) but it still wont turn over. Any ideas info or just where to go from here would be a great help. Oh I did not prime the pump because i knew the pump is good.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Im not worried about going back to 100% OEM because one might be getting a ls swap. We have a full swap sitting in my friends yard (still in the truck) and hes willing to work a killer deal on it but for my '88 i kind of want the upgraded factory look and mid 3-400 rwhp. Im really looking forward to getting these done and in advance I want to say thank you for the help because without the knowledge here it would be a longer up hill battle. Ill post pics soon and its great hearing from someone out here in the middle of the desert! Thank baby jesus its getting a little cooler out so i can start these turbo upgrades hopefully

Thank you. Already I found that my '88 is a SHP (thought that was pretty cool) and instead of a crazy electrical problem the battery just happened to die after swapping my rear hatch out. Im originally from California and I go back pretty often, is there any chance there might be meets or anything like that going on the end of this year/begging of 2016?

Hello everyone! I am new to the fourm and new to the conquest/ starion family, I have a 1986 wide conquest (stick) and also a 1988 wide conquest (auto). I love the look but I have been running into a few problems (seems like fix 1 another problem starts) but I really want to keep them because I think they are one of the best cars to come out of the 80s. Trying to find info and parts have been another pretty big road block so I am really excited about being here and restoring these back to full health & then some. I will say I cant really complain I managed to trade a extra ps4 for both of them
