Upgraded Sway Bars and steel braided brake lines
nightwalkerancestery replied to stesir's topic in Items Wanted
There's some braided brake lines on eBay. They're good prices too. -
Feeler: Custom Sealt Belt Pads
nightwalkerancestery replied to nightwalkerancestery's topic in Group Purchase Info
That wouldn't be a problem at all. The color of the stitching isn't at all difficult to change. Different overall designs are what adds extra time and effort. When I open a sale thread, I'll PM you for more details on what you want. - Charles -

What would you want blue/black? You mean blue stitching on a black pad? And what words/logos? - Charles -

For you Nick, I'll always trade you a pair for an airdam. Hahaha! - Charles -
Feeler: Custom Sealt Belt Pads
nightwalkerancestery replied to nightwalkerancestery's topic in Group Purchase Info
I figured that would be the question to be asked sooner or later. Lol I'd have to buy the bare pads, drive to/from the embroiderer, and pay the woman and shipping. I was thinking round abouts of $30 shipped for a pair. Also, note that these pads are not BULKY! I hate the pads that are thick and feel like a flippin' pillow. These are nice and thin and feel PERFECT. Not a pillow, but enough to do the job. Keep the interest coming! - Charles -
Feeler: Custom Sealt Belt Pads

That'd definitely be possible. If only a few are interested I could run them individually, but it'd be best if we could get more interest and make some runs with them. - Charles -
Okay, so I didn't get many responses to my first feeler. Hopefully, now that I have some pictures of how mine turned out, I'll get more or a response. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u398/N1ghtWalker/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0048_zpsszdjpqem.jpg I did these just to see if I liked them and I think they turned out perfectly. I can get them made with whatever logo's or words, but if people want something different, let's try to keep it to a minimum of about three or four different designs. I was thinking two of them would be the Starion and the Conquest one. So, you guys be the judge. Is this something I should do a run of? I know these CERTAINLY helped with the seatbelt cutting into my neck. Let's hear your responses! - Charles

wtb,,89 black leather driver seat bottom
nightwalkerancestery replied to quikconq's topic in Items Wanted
Just to broaden results, 88's also had the perforated seats. I believe if there's a factory non-perf, it'd be between Starion and conquest rather than years. My 88 has the same perforated seats. Good luck! - Charles -
New/used aftermarket and OE parts for sale
nightwalkerancestery replied to Prozaq's topic in Parts for sale
I'll take the coil assuming the housing isn't melted from arching and the threads aren't stripped on the terminals. Pics to 88starquest@Gmail.com - Charles -
Damn. Been looking for Starion tails for months and the one time some go up for sale, someone beats me to them. Next in line for them if LSQuest doesn't take them :/ - Charles

That's good to know. Looking at Ajusa's image in their catalogue it looks as though it's a basic fiber core similar to FelPro's old design before they came out with the permatorque. Speaking of, it looks as though the Permatorque is very similar in design to that of the good Ajusa head gasket. If I'm not mistaken, they are both MLS gaskets. The only difference I've noticed is that Ajusa has a "sticky" silicone coating on it and the permatorque seems to have the same, only it's smooth. Is there anything to be lost with going with the FelPro versus the Ajusa? - Charles

1986 tsi engine parts custom side exit exhaust Volvo turbo
nightwalkerancestery replied to BADBAJA's topic in Parts for sale
I'm confused. Is this a full part out or just engine stuff? If a full partout, is it a Station or Conquest? Looking for some nice tails! - Charles -
Yes, that is the check valve you circled. Yes the hose should be clamped. And yes, it's a 'special' hose in that it's a molded hose from factory, but you don't have to replace it with that special hose. Theres not enough heat on that side to cause a threat. The stock hose is simply double walled just from design. Otherwise, the vacuum hoses and the AC lines would have a sleeve on the outside like the hard AC line, PS feed line, oil cooler lines, etc. Just a regular straight piece of hose will and does work. Have had it on mine for years and not one problem. That thing you circled is the check valve. They're actually strong enough that you can get two extras and make your own crank vents out of them You should be perfectly fine with what you've got. Everything is there. Call that task done! - Charles

AJUSA also makes full or partial gasket sets for the G54B. These are the AJUSA P#: Full Gasket Set:50122400 Head Gasket Set: 52108500 Conversion (Lower) Gasket Set: 54064300 - Charles

Wow...I'm blind. Or I just can't see crap on my phone. NOW I see the ducktape in the second photo now that I'm on a computer. It's not really a special type of hose. It's just for vacuum. I just used some correct sized hose from the local part store to replace mine. Just buy a foot or two and you should be good to go. A whoppin' $2. lol - Charles

New or Good Condition Rear CV Joints
nightwalkerancestery replied to CarlosFley's topic in Items Wanted
If you look at the axles and where they bolt to the rear hubs on each side, they'll have either 4 bolts or 6 bolts. If your rear hasn't been changed out to the 88/89 rear by you or the previous owner, you have the four bolt axles. If you're not sure (in the case that the PO may have changed it), just peek under the back and look at the wheel hubs and count the number of bolts that hold it to the flange. As for the boots, you can get them pretty much anywhere. Most auto stores have universal ones. Rockauto.com (most times) has the original style, three/four ribbed boots. Otherwise, they also have the universals as well. - Charles -
I'm not entirely sure what specific thing you circled on the second picture, but if you're talking about the ports that enter/exit the firewall to/from the inside of the car, they're for the heater core.

I just grab cheaper ones from ebay either from china (if i have the time to spare) or the us (if i need it more frequent). I'm using those couplers for my aftermarket OVCP where there's a lot of stressed flexing and I have yet to have a problem with them tearing or weakening. It's been about a year with them. Still good! - Charles

^^^^^ What he said. Seems a bit expensive for just a long pigtail. Lol. I need the whole setup from gauge to sensor. Currently I'm in a deal with someone for an Innovate LC2 kit with 1k miles on it for $100 shipped. If anyone can beat that, I'll take it. Thanks! - Charles
-
Just feeling the waters to see if anyone has a wideband kit laying around that they're willing to let go of. I'd love to have one, but can't find the desire to pay the $160 for the Innovate kit (I like their products much more than AEM and the like). Not to say I wouldn't take an AEM or any other brand, but I'd love to get an Innovate kit if possible. Will entertain all types and offers. Would love to pay something more around $80 or so. If for a lower proce, I don't need the O2 sensor. Tell what you've got! Trying to save some funds for some good tails. Thanks in advance! - Charles

eBay downpipe
nightwalkerancestery replied to nightwalkerancestery's topic in Advanced Virtual Mechanic
I'm not too worried about the minimal difference in diameter of only a few inches long for a full $50 less. If it ever bothers me, I'll spend the $25 to have my buddy weld on a 3" section and flange. Again, this won't be noticeable and doesn't bother me. I knew this before even asking Thanks ICflatty. Appreciate the experience with the new pipe. How's that flex section holding up? - Charles -
'87 is nearing end of resto. Excited to see her first start since ownership!

I believe that the only way to get a Mech roller rocker that'll sit right in is to get them from a Magna. Even then, I can't even tell you what years had the mechanical. I would only suggest getting some Magna rockers. To make any rocker arm work other than one off of a Magna, there are going to be various modifications made to the valve stem tip, custom cam grind and more. That's not to say a schneider grind. It would have to be a custom grind to make up for the difference in ratio. The Caravan V6 rollers as well as the Mirage rockers have a different ratio than the Magna rockers. Not much, but enough to make a noticeable difference. I believe I have a couple sets of V6 Caravan rockers as well as 1.5L Mirage rockers sitting around the shop somewhere collecting dust. If I can find the Caravan rockers, I'd be willing to let them go for $20+shp if you're interested. Hopefully someone who's used rollers from other cars can chime in. That's about all the help I can give. Good luck. Might do this myself if you can get them to work for a reasonable price. - Charles

I just realized OP stated roller. Oops! Though, my comment stands for the caravan as well as my last post - Charled
