Komeuppance
Travis is using an inline noise filter on his power input, basically just a capacitor. He said it came with his FIP setup. Do you have the RPM's hooked up to input #3 on the JAW?? -Robert
psu_Crash
I thought about putting a filter inline. Well tomorrow is the day devoted to Starion so I will let you know what I find out.
psu_Crash
Rerouted the wires through my firewall ( what a PITA) and connected the RPM via the above schematic for datalogging. Everything works fine but the display still randomly flashes. I found that when i hold the cable to the display the flashing stops. I think i have a loose connection that I will have to track down. Another question ... I did the free air calibration and had everything hooked up for a test drive. The A/F stays about mid 15 while i am cruising at 2k RPM and doesn't seem to drop much below 14.7 when I am accelerating keeping it out of boost. The engine is being broke in so i come into the throttle slowly but I thought it should run a couple points richer than that. . right? Komeuppance
RPM works?? Niiiiiiice. Yeah, I would say it's probably the customized cable. If you want, send it back to me and I'll fix it or send you a new one. What calibration number did you get for your sensor?? If you're not boosting, there's no need to go many points below 14.7... you'll just put gas in the oil... -Robert
psu_Crash
When I did the free air calibration I got 2. Says it is supposed to be close to zero but how close? I will take another look at the cable and see what is going on with it. I will keep you updated.
Car6on14
im running windows xp, ill try data logging again this week and clicking twice? I am having a strange situation with mine, when my radiator fan turns on my output leans out a point or 2, eg, ill be at idle, 11.2 and the radiator fan will turn on and it will read 12.2, I was going to check for voltage drop, but could it be that its leaning out bc the engine has a small load from the alt when the fan is on? psu_Crash
Yep the cable to my display is shot. If I hold it in one spot the display stops flashing. There appears to be a break in the cable. It is an IDC cable right? I may just go pick one up .. you said that the cable was modified. How so?
PDodson
i just got around to hooking mine up after a long time.....im getting "3428" on the display when the key is in the on position, I cannot crank the car because i have a bad turbo
Komeuppance
Ah, I replied to your PM... but I see you have it all hooked up now. Remove the wideband sensor, and take a pocket lighter and hold it under the sensor. Push the lighter button to release butane but do not allow it to ignite with the sparker. You just want the butane gas to flow over the sensor, you will see the display change all the way to 10.18 which is max rich, depending on how close you are holding the lighter. BTW, this is a HEATED sensor... and it will get very very hot when the JAW is on... be careful. -Robert Edited June 14, 2010 by Komeuppance
