THE OFFSET KEEPS THEM TUCKED IN AND LOOK PUNIE!!!!!!!!! ANYONE KNOW IF THIS RIM WIDENING IS POSSIBLE?? OR HOW'BOUT WHEEL SPACERS? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I refuse to do so, even though I have been asked many times. I would hate to have a wheel come apart, the liability is enough to scare most fabricators off. JustPaus_88TSi Posted April 25, 2004 Report Share Posted April 25, 2004 Got some pic's? About the spacers, depending on how far flush the center of the rim is to the lip. Like a +44 offset etc.. That's just more you'll have to go.. Going out further also decrease's the amount of times your lugnuts will go onto the wheel stud. So longer studs may be neccessary. So, you have spacers and longer studs... Now you get to wear out your bearings faster.. Is this a road you wish to travel? Is it at all possible to just get rims with the right offset? The offset of the wheel would be corrected which would make the distance from the hub to the outside of the wheel the same as stock, and nothing should change. JustPaus_88TSi Posted May 1, 2004 Report Share Posted May 1, 2004 Because the rims mounting point is XXmm farther away, compared to stock... You're adding distance between the hub and the rim.. Putting more weight, load and stress on the inner part of the rotating assembly, in this case the bearings... I may be totally wrong, but other have said the same thing...A friend went widebody with a prelude and used spacers to pop out the rims a little bit, I think the old bearings lasted a week(but they were OEM), new set lasted about 1-2months...
