Much snow in the northeast. 1987 Conquest TSi Long before I learned of the warping issue with these manifolds, I had the car in a shop for an exhaust leak. The gasket was replaced but I don't believe the leak went away as it is leaking (near the firewall). I also believe there is a small crack (I'll have to confirm). Could someone advise on finding a good replacement? I guess it would have to be corrected by planing it down. I also read about stress relieving, but that if already planed dow then that would no longer be needed. Thanks for any help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Make sure the rear most exhaust stud is not broken or stripped out causing a leak. Contsi Posted March 9 Author Report Share Posted March 9 Thanks for the replies guys. I will look into these, once I'm able to confirm the true condition of mine. I'm guessing these are remanufactured; is the fitment stock like? Also, the shop did tell me that they had to helicoil the the rear most exhaust stud, not sure if it was pulled, or stripped. Contsi Posted March 10 Author Report Share Posted March 10 Looked at the manifold today and sure enough, that last bolt had worked itself out, and the nut on the top wasn't very tight. I got that along with the steel exhaust manifold gasket and ARP hardware he sells last summer, very pleased with all of it.
