Mike w
Hey guys. I’m trying to rebuild my 87 starion and I’m looking for some help with the struts. I went to ground control and got the coil over conversion kit but I’m not finding what struts to put with them. They suggest KYB and all I’m finding are front struts. What am I missing? Are they the same as rear? Does the rear take something else? Please help so I can get this back on the road. thanks.

Edit .. it doesn't look like their available anymore, or at least at this time.
TexasQuest
2 Rear Threaded Top Empty Strut Housings For Widebody Starion Conquest — MOOKEEH You'll have to use rear housings with strut inserts like the front uses.
TSITy
I've found that the mookeeh strut inserts are much shorter than stock. I was unable to even get the coil over sleeve to bolt on, since the MR2 shocks are so much shorter. If you do go this route, plan on either lowering the car a lot, or don't use the MR2 rear inserts for the shocks. I don't have the answer as to what shock insert works. I'd like to believe you could use the front inserts on the rear, but I'm sure there would be some fabrication involved.
1SICDSM
i actually extended the mookeehs to match factory cause i was using eibach springs.according to mookeeh with the coilover kit it should work.
psu_Crash
Pretty sure I have good front inserts and a set of rear struts I'd be willing to part with if you're interested. I believe the fronts are KYB and the rear are Mookeeh Edited June 2, 2025 by psu_Crash
