kev
Really nice car. I liked looking at the original window sticker and paperwork more than anything. Bought new at Brown-Daub Chrysler/Plymouth in Easton, PA which happened to be not far from where I grew up. Although, I was living in NYC in 1985. Everything looks legit and original on her with exception to a few minor things in the engine compartment such as the fuel pressure regulator, plug wires, etc. Has all the original hoses, clips, straps, etc. The one thing that looked odd to me was the muffler. I don't remember a rolled tip but it's been too many years since I had a flatty and everything else about the muffler looks original. Thanks for posting this, I'm curious to see what it sells for. Also saw Preludedude in the comments.....this one might be a good one for you! Come to think of it, those might actually be the original plug wires. The orange cap on the coil wire is what is throwing me off.
Preludedude
I don’t buy from car dealers unless they’re losing money. It’s an interesting standard I’ve set for myself. 😎 He can make money off someone else. Not me… Poor moron knows nothing about the car. He’s just another lousy dealer who sourced inventory from auction… Edited February 20 by Preludedude

kev
I just saw another member post photos, on fb, of a car he bought with supposedly 30k original but left outside for many years. But, I honed in on the spark plugs wires. It also had the coil wire with the reddish orange boot. That just might be original. In all of my years, I never took notice to that nor had any of my cars had a coil wire with a red boot…although mine have probably all had replacement wires prior to me owning them. That was just a standard ‘tune up’ thing in the 80s…replacing cap/rotor/plugs/wires, sometimes yearly. A trend that Probably cascaded from the cars in the 60s/70s. im really starting to dig the knowledge of a fully stock original condition starquest. I started trying to go down that path with my 88 driver but it’s very difficult to recreate that condition. Just not enough NOS parts nor aftermarket support for that level of restoration. Kills me because I know, for the most part, what it should have, just don’t have the means or funds to make it that way.

I do understand what you mean though, that dealer probably hosed the original owner.
techboy
Up to 9100 now. It's a great color combo to this day, considering the year it was manufactured.

nc_beagle
I know this isn't a StarQuest, but this is blowing my mind. Must be an Element cult out there. I feel bad for the last owner, but the dealer made out great. I guess that is his job That Element auction though... I guess just because low miles and people lose their minds. Hard pass for me
