techboy
Just and FYI for all users ... the Throttle Body Rebuild thread (originally from 2017) is back up. It took me a few nights to link all the pics, but it's done. It can be found here: https://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/150919-how-to-step-by-step-throttle-body-rebuild/#google_vignette Thank you Wayback Machine for still having all the text!

tux
I'm hoping it resolved my sputtering and lean conditions. Could be all the gas stains I see on the tb or could be the aftermarket 86 injectors. Will see Edited August 2 by tux

techboy
Yeah, and if you crank too hard on it, it'll probably crack the aluminum injectors housing.

tux
I found that if you put your jis screwdriver on the throttle screws and whack the back of the driver very lightly with a dead blow (to seat it firmly), you can just twist the screws out without grinding. techboy
I had thought of that myself, but I was afraid if I hit it too hard I might put a slight bend in the rotating shaft. Glad to know it works and can be done.
tux
Before I finish re-assembly, I think I'll try to nickel plate the accessories. It's not terribly difficult to do, if they will accept plating.
tux
too oil impregnated. it didn't turn out that well for a diy job. Also, if anyone wants, to do this, I have 8 replacement throttle plate screws left in the 10 pack I bought (only way I could get them)
