There was a topic about the variances between the body paint and the

engine bay color being different. It also mentioned useing brake fluid to

clean the grime with a brush can anyone point me to the post.

I searched different sections but can't remember the actual topic, but they

also mentioned purple power for cleaning the bay area.

Engine bay has no clear coat so the paint looks different. Brake fluid eats paint. Use purple power or simple green and a toothbrush. Toothbrush seems small but it gets the most grime off. With white paint you finish by spraying brake cleaner on a rag and doing a light buff. Edited by ucw458

I use degreaser from .99 cent store, Awesome. Just don't spray too much of that stuff on rubber and plastic or leave it on for too long because it makes those things hazy.

Yea i saw that as well in that topic i'm searching for i use purple power as well to clean

my engines. I use to use engine gunk before this topic was discussing body paint as

well as the difference in engine bay paint and the cleaning process. i remember at

least two members who posted in that discussion Dale, and UCW58.
