87B71Brad Posted February 29, 2012 Report Share Posted February 29, 2012 Well as some know I sold my 87 Atlantic about 7 months ago. About the biggest thing I regret! Anyway The guy I sold it to called last friday and asked If I was interested in buying it back..well ofcourse I was estatic!! So Sat was meet date and He never showed. About miday he sent a picture and I almost had a heart attack. The quest met a pole and two brick buildings at about 70 mph. I was so shocked I almost immediatly jumped in the truck and drove to see it. I ended up buying the car anyways and was so troubled of not getting a drivable quest that I swiped my wifes iphone and searched craigslist. Found an 89 White SHP 89xxx miles. So Roadtrip sunday morning. lol Muskogee, OK. Picked up the 89 spare Auto trans, Spare engine, bumper, turbo and few odd and ends. Now there are 3 quest in my yard..lol So I will be busy Plans: 89' Inspect Engine troubles and may transplant Engine from wrecked 87. Replace bumper and polish wheels ect. Put dash back together asuming the previous owner found a shorted wire(??) 89 is originally an auto car..so I'll need some interior pieces from 87 that the 5spd swapper forgot. 87' flatty 5 lug swap from the 87 and install rebuilt auto trans. 87' Doner car for my other cars. (rip) Hoping to get the 89 together and show ready for Branson this year The 89 Has 8" rears on the front so Im missing the front SHP wheels. The rear 9"s are curbed and kinda nasty, So I'm looking for someone to recond them. Took pics of the cars and Wheels on 87 that had been reconditioned. Thank goodness they were ok. Ya I felt sick, still do everytime I walk by it. Little Rock meet sounds fun, anywhere near here,..lol A f2 tornado tore hwy 76 in branson up pretty good last night btw its not too pretty.
