So Matt and i set out with this swap in hopes to have it done in a week. We started sunday with pulling the motor. Monday we dropped the 2j in and mocked up the mounts, Tuesday we got are arses whooped because for some reason the wires in the car was arse backwards. We could not figure out why we was not getting spark. it worked out because we pulled the timing belt to find the owner when replacing the front seal, he pryed on the crank trigger wheel and bent it. We got it running but it took all freaking day. Wednesday and Thursday we put the intercooler, radiator, fans, ic piping, walbro pump and cyberdyne gauges in. Friday i was driving the s*** outta it to make sure everything was all good :D Saturday I took off cuz i had a wedding. Sunday i cleaned up the car and gave it back to the owner who is very, very pleased. The swap went smoothely considering Matt and I did already, it could have been done sooner if we werent held up on tuesday. It all worked out though so now there is 3 2jz quest that ive worked on.

This guy spent alot of money on this, if you do it your self you will prob spend around 5 to 6 thousand could be more or less depending on what you get. I got the motor from ebay. Bill Hincher makes diff bell housings, check the tranny forum.

you guys should start making mounts and sell them. how much of the tunnel are you guys cutting up. i like to compare to how much i cut mine up

I told him to, he is really good at welding (His cousin is even better :D ) i really suck at welding. if you use the w58 transmission u dont have to cut anything. If you use the r154 u have to cut out the outer skin of the tunnel and bang it out to fit.

Could you use a stock 2JZ auto in a 5/sp Quest tunnel without bangin it out?

i have 4g63 mounts they are all steel. i cut the the outer skin an used the hell outta the BFH on the tunnel. i just like to see other peoples methods. you know kinda ingest all the data to try to come up with the best way. i kinda wish i went with a w55/58 i dont make much torque to break stuff

no something is broken in it. makes a noise and when you tip the tranny around you can hear something rattle in there

Was it popping out of 1st or third gear, hard to go in to 2nd?

LOl- damn you 2jz guys anyway :P

Yea, make sure you take out the metal tunnel skin - I didnt and just started beating the beep out of it until I couldnt feel my arms - it took forever and a day to get the clearance.

Now if I can only finish up what I need to do - not 2j though - :(
