Boought KYB 365060 front cartidges. When i tighten the nut that comes with the shock, the shock still has about a half of play in it. Why? I see nothing from the old shock that I could use, unless something was missing from the kyb box? This is an SHP strut, and I cut off the adjuster so the shock could go in . Is the strut body itself a little taller on SHP?

Selling my all original 88 ESI R. Never modded or raced. 113k miles, auto trans, black, new tires. Runs great, body and interior excellent.

86 has two injectors of the same size. No vacuum leaks. Prior thread (not running out of nowhere) I made mention of fuel pressure is ok, injectors are good, compression is good, no vacuum leaks, new coil, good igniter, new vac advance, new plugs, new wires, new cap, new rotor. Timing is all good. It's just an odd spot in 2000-3000 rpm. Maybe I'll unplug the maf and try.

Look for a shop in your area that restores fuel tanks.

rough with no info.but check fuel pressure possible low but when vacuum reference increases fuel psi it drives ok.also make sure primary and secondary injectors are hooked up properly

I've been around a while like many people here and I don't know of anyone making or adapting a different gas tank for the Starquest - short of having one custom made. Your best bet, easiest, and cheapest is by far to work with Steve ^^^^. He'll get you hooked up with what you need. I would not put a questionable tank back on your car and try to make it work - your asking for trouble.

It looks like Legion Elite Motorsports makes one out of aluminum. I guess he is redesigning the tank now and should have one available in a few months. I guess I'll clean the rust out of mine for now and try and get the car running.

HI Guys, The 88 Starion I acquired from a recking yard has sat for many number of years. Pulled off the gas tank and discovered it is rusted out. Are there any aftermarket gas tank options that won't require a ton of modifications? injectors being cleaned and flowed. New fuel lines, pump, filters, etc ordered from MKS.

Curious if anyone one has any idea at 2000-3000 rpm in any gear as soon as I hit 0 psi I get popping and the car falls on its face. If I get to 3000 rpm while in vacuum, she runs fine in positive boost pressure.

I am working with a local shop that does only tube work and has done Nissan high performance cars. He is going to make both Silvia and Star quest tube cross members that take an S13 rack and pinion. Nissan 240 SX ( S14) knuckles (God Speed SK-001-BLACK), hubs and lower control arms (God Speed AK-084 ). *GOD SPEED GSP FIT 240SX S14 KA24 SR20 FRONT ANTI SWAY BAR KIT * 2005 Cadillac CTSV front brakes - calipers and rotors *S13 HICAS rack and ends - 2.5 turns lock, to lock. *2013 Cadillac ATS steering shaft and u-joint * custom tubular cross member that moves the lower control arm mount points to match the S14 rack. (can mod a factory one, don't have to do a rack, either) *TEIN Super Nissan Silvia S14 Coilover Front Kit *Conquest upper camber plate, that takes an S13/S14 coil over. I have it all here. Of course, I am also going L33, with a turbo for 8 psi and T56....

This really can't be that tough to make something that is less ugly, stronger and lighter. My only thought is that NDD is priced too cheap and he can't make them for what he sells them for. They are getting very hard to find for most went to the yards and are long crushed. I've always been a fan of the 83-85 cars. I like the look, especially without the rear spoiler that was added to the flatbodies in 86. My first car was an 84 starion es and I've been searching for a clone of it for 30 years. Have had a few opportunities for ones in a different color though, but even that was 15+ years back. I chuckle how one of the requirements is the chime feature. I turned that off after the first drive in my 84 and it never was switched back on during my ownership. BTW: the ES models have the Velnas computer which is far cooler than both the chime or the digital dash, in my opinion. (well...84 and 85 and in the starion variant only) Anyways, good luck with the search and sorry to clutter the thread!

Just out of curiosity i sent an email to them a week ago asking how long the wait times were for the subframes, havent received a response yet.

I am also speaking with someone more local to me, to build these. Going to model up both the S13/14 cross members and our StarQuest ones.

That is one item I would not learn to weld on... Use a certified welder, that can do multi-position, please?

The extension shaft cup splines, and the pinion coupler spline mesh together very precisly when they don't have wear. I pulled them out of my 88 140k miles on it, that was never beat on, and there is zero play.
