MikeMeyerhoff
Yep low 2700s depending on equipment. Sounds light doesn't it? Remember mitsu was producing another turbocharged coupe at the same time as the starion that was under 2000 lbs... Starion is not so light, but I'm ok with the extra metal Edited August 23, 2009 by MikeMeyerhoff

Tim_C.
The '83 Cannonball Run II car weighs 2750 with 1/2 tank of gas. It has no AC parts at all, 22 Lb flywheel, BS elim, no under dash insulator mat which must weigh about 12 lbs. It has a downpipe, no secondary air box, no ABS, and it is not posi rear, but has everything else including spare tire and jack. '83's did not have cruise. The tires are oversized. I did put an intercooler on it too.

That's really neat yours had it. Yes, I forgot to mention my seats are leather '86 TSi seats. I have a set of '83 seats which are considerably lighter. Maybe 5 lbs per seat. 83_project_toy
my 83 seats are also different then other 83 seats. i'm thinking 83's might of been made to order or atleast had a long option list from the factory. since mines got different seats and cruise and a lsd without ever having abs. these are the seats i'm talking about they just look lighter then the other 83 seats. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/100_0453.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/100_0455.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/100_0456.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/100_0200.jpg just for fun here's a pick of a early 83 pickup tube http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/under.jpg
Guest Kenmarrow
Well Hell.. Looks like we still do not know the true weight of the 83.. We will most likey never know for sure, just an average.. Thanks
Tim_C.
I have 3 of those seats that I don't know what to do with, but only one head rest and one of the seats is out of the CBRII. It is practically brand new but got run over by a truck or something? That is the standard '83 seat from what I've seen in person on 5 '83's. They are the seats shown in the Cannonball Run II movie too. When the car races up to where the biker gang is, Jackie opens the door and that is the seat. Anyway, I don't like them so I put a nice gray cloth '84 set of fronts and rear in my daily driver '83. I would say the seats are 5 Lbs less each or thereabouts. The '83 weighs closer to 2850 from the factory with AC, etc.. However, it is easy to lighten it up.

83_project_toy
the 4 other 83's i've seen have had the 84 style seat in them. i know the other style seat that i pulled out of the 83 parts car i had weren't that light. think 83's only had 2 trim packages le and ex but i'm not sure on that tho.
