I got that custom flywheel long ago in the first group purchase.

500 HP clutch :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-97-CAM...sQ5fAccessories

Flywheel:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fidanza-fly...sQ5fAccessories

That comes to $788 shipped for the clutch/flywheel and reused stock starter, so I'm not sure where that $1900 figure comes from.

So this plate you have will require a GM flywheel and a generic styled toyota starter?    I'm sure the local shop I use for my motor can machine al LS-1 flywheel down for neutral balance.   It woudl be nice to use the LS-1clutches anyway.

fair enough, well, where do we start?
I guess the first consderation would be the coupler, that would give us the depth of the plate, then we would reposition the starter to the lower drivers side of the engine to aviod the exhaust

But you know? Chad already offers this

Awesome!! will this work with a 5speed conquest to convert to a GM 700r4 trans? is there enough room with the trans tunnel for the GM trans?
Thanks
Tony

NO a 700r4 will have to have the Tunnel removed and make a new one. I know as I have a 700r4 in my quest. I have not got the shifter in but dont think thats going to be bad at all.

I did the GM adaptor a long time ago, this system adapts the wide block 464 or the narrow block 463 or the g54b to any GM auto trans

To sum it up,
You supply the adapter plate and crank adapter. bolts?

We have to get:
153 tooth gm small block flexplate,
accompaning bolts,
whatever torque converter works on a th350 will work assuming you get the flywheel with bolt holes for it in 10.75" or 11.5" patterns,
accompaning bolts,
Starter gear? what part number?
84-92 toyota starter from what model vehicle? or part number?

I plan to get my parts from Summit, Jegs, or Lane Automotive. I'll probably pick the one that has all the parts in stock.
just trying to get an itemized list, make it easier for others to purchase. this needs to be more widely known.

the GM automatic trans adaptor  includes these parts
a hardened crankshaft coupler, a cast aluminum adaptor plate , starter gear and flex plate bolts.
This adaptor uses all the parts from a small block Chevy from my coupler back through the power glide/350/400 turbo trans, it uses Chevy 'over the counter' torque convertors and 153 tooth flexplate and a reduction starter from a 85-93 toyota 22R engine bosch part # SR122X or Napa part# RAY2446161 (not included with kit) with my custom made pinion gear

bill, could you post how to change the pinion gear? I found the factory 22r manual and it has the gear on a whole "starter clutch assembly".
Also, I noticed you mention to use the 1.0kw starter, will your gear fit the 1.4kw starter as well? (it's listed on advance autoparts as a replacement)
They didn't have a sr122x in stock, but they had the world brand. no know issues with that right?
I bought the 1.0kw since you said to use it, just asking incase a 1.4kw falls into my lap in the future.

Bill, i understand the 200r4 is lighter and smaller. Would the Chevy pattern of that trans work with this adapter. I think the Grand National version of that trans is the Buick pattern. If they good enough for a GN, should work for a g54b. More costly to build for hp though.

There was also a thread about maybe a bellhousing for a ford aod i think, but i can't find it.

there is a lot going on, but its all good
for a long time I resisted using the C 4 Ford because I didnt want to deal with the bellhousing patterns of a Ford, they have different patterns between big bolck and small bock V-8s and straight 6's so the thought was to stay with the Chevy because parts were so cheap with a huge selection and the bellhousing patterns were consistant with all thier engines
well, I couldnt make the GM trans work on the V-6 Mits 6G7x series, nor the Honda or the 2JZ I was working on,in a quiality workmanship way, so I moved to the C-4
After I got involved with the C-4 I was truely impressed with its smaller size, light wieght and availability that I started moving all my auto trans work in that direction
I bought the pullmax machine to produce my own flexplates and that will create a lot of flexibility
my next step is to get SFI certification on the flexplates and bellhousings
the only roadblock at this time is that to have the bellhousings certified, SFI requires 6 bellhousing mounting bolts, Mitsubishi only has 4 in the block
