MikeMeyerhoff
Has anyone done AC idle up on their starquest? Doing some brief reading it looks like it is included in MS3 and may work with MS2extra. mm
scott87star
Really haven't needed to, the A/C cycling on and off doesn't bother it all that much. My MPI idles around 800 hot and only dips to 750 when the compressor comes on, thank the long stroke leverage of the motor. I did play with the idle advance in MS1, having a few more degrees at idle can help smooth things out even more but I have since stopped that too. MikeMeyerhoff
I guess I'll see how it goes. This is an automatic, so there is by nature more load at idle than a manual car has. The other thing that was worring me was charging problems with having to run all the fans. mm
pure_insanity
i was thinking of running a micro switch on the throttle itself, like a nitrous full on switch on the throttle linkage. using it to control a solenoid air valve that can open at idle whenever the air comp kicks on but would close whenever you come off idle. that way you only open the valve at idle and when the comp kicks in it energizes the valve. and would closeas soon as you touch the throttle or the comp knocks off. a little bit messed up, but simple and effective and you dont have to try and figure out how to make it all work in m,s,
