vbrad511
So I'm checking my properties and find when I open My COmputer I now have the "Documents" and "Shared Documents" in the same list as the drives. This just happened within the last day or so. I can't find a way to remove them, and I'm worried if I hit "Delete" I'll lose the contents of the folders. What would've caused this duplication, and how do I remove them?
Eirewolf
There's a weird bug in Windows XP that usually does the opposite, and removes the My Documents folder from view, and you have to go in to the registry and do a minor reghack to get it restored to viewable again. I am not sure this is a problem, but if they just appeared, there must be a reason for it. You might want to check your system out for malware, using Malwarebytes or Adaware or something. Those are both free, you can get them from download.com. I would not do anything just yet until I ran a full malware scan.
Komeuppance
That's normal for your My Documents and Shared Documents folders to show up in My Computer. It's likely that windows updated, or a program updated your settings for you. It's also probably related to enabling network sharing, maybe even a recent network you've connected to. If your antivirus and security settings are up to date, I wouldn't worry about it. -Robert
vbrad511
I'll relax then. Funny it never showed up before, and i've been running this OS for a couple years now. No biggie...and it scans out to no malware, spyware, or other issues. Thanks guys.
