I was wondering if there's any mod you can do to make the 5 speed a dogleg or any trans that would easily swap in with a dogleg shift pattern that would hold up to power?
Please nothing giant like a t56 or that requires a custom drive shaft, or shifter location change. Thanks in advance!
Is there any Dogleg Trans?

^ Is dog leg the correct term? Not sure what you are after.
you mean dog ring :

I think you can get a Ford T5 dog-ringed, but the modifications for that to fit behind the G54B are the same as any non-stock transmission. They all need the same kinds of mods to fit.

No, dogleg.
It's a shift pattern. In road racing, you don't use 1st very often. So it's quicker to have 2nd and 3rd gear in a line, than diagonal.
Get me? Lol. I know the BMW had them, but I don't know how it'll bolt in, it's size, etc

The proper term is dogleg reverse.
It puts reverse gear in the traditional "H pattern" location of 1st gear, and moves 1st to the traditional location of 2nd. Leaving you with a straight shot 2-3 shift.
Mercedes-Benz had them in some of the Cosworth 190E sedans.

Exactly that. I mean, my old Mach 1 had it, but it's not a car you would road race normally. So it wasn't of much use.
But aside that, I wish there were something like it for our cars.
I do love dogbox transmissions, but I wouldn't drive with one daily. I enjoy double clutching and rev matching (mainly helps prolong the syncros), but not on a daily basis. I wouldn't mind one on the VW, since it's gonna be a weekend/race car. I'm a sucker for that straight gear whine.
