Tire Options for Factory 15" Flatty Wheels

About to shoe a spare set of 15x6.5" flatty wheels and I HATE the factory 215/60/15 size.....just too tall (25.2"). Looking to go 205/60 (24.7"), 205/55 (23.9"), or maybe even 225/50 (23.9").

Just curious what others might have tried and liked as far as sizes.

Believe it or not the 225/50 is actually cheaper than the 205/55 (both identical heights of 23.9).....you think the 225 is too much width for the 6.5" wheel???? 225's listed for 6"-8" wheel widths while the 205's are 5.5"-7.5" (comparing same tire across different sizes)

Thanks Harry......I like the way those Hooters.....err....tires look. The 23.9" height looks much better than 25.2" factory.

Is the olive car lowered (looks like it expecially if it wasn't settled in that pic!!!)

205 gives you a pretty good range of sticky rubber, 225 looks better. Wider is almost always better! I ran the factory size on a set of 15x7 enkies with a zero offset and had rubbing issues when turning. A quick switch to 225/50's took care of that and looked way more aggressive!

I run 225/50/15's on 9" rims on my car. The rolling diameter is obviously a bit smaller, making the speedo a bit out, but totally live-able, and looks awesome with a lowered car.

If you're trying to get rid of the tall rubber doughnut look, you could always upgrade to 16" rims and slap on 225-45s on them?

Holy old post resurrection Batman  This is when I was trying to decide on tires for my factory cowbell rims so moving to 16's would defeat the purpose. The cowbells are awesome looking vintage type wheels so no way I'd consider scraping them after looking so long for a nice set.

Nice and cowbells should not be used together in the same sentence, Robin, its an oxymoron IMO, lol.

No way! I love cowbells, or any 80's turbo style wheel! Looking for a clean set of cowbells myself!

More power to you, that's what makes the world go round, but of all the rims I've seen on these cars, cowbells have to be at the bottom of my list. That's my opinion, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
