Intake, MSIII, and Long tubes will do 400whp+ EASY with a good tune. Just make sure to chuck some upgraded pushrods in there while your at it. Stockers like to bend. The good Lord had his hand in the development of the LS engines.

Building an LS1 for 2K?  How do yo do that.  I see these on ebay for 3500.00?  However you did it, congrats.  It's a fantastic motor and weighs nothing for a v8.  I would bring it up to 400 HP and drive the daylights out of it.  Then NOS it.  Just a 75 or 100 shot.  You wouldn't use it very often but it's a riot to have.  NOS is big fun!.....O.K.....maybe you would use it a bit....:-)
Hardpipes, MAFT, GM MAS, 3" DP, 2.5" exhaust, 950/1050 Trilogy injectors, K&N filter, Machined and balance flywheel 23 lbs, short shift, 88/89 tranny, HD ACT clutch, DSM EVO3 S16g ported (21 psi), polished and clipped, NJV head (ported), larger SS Valves, Schneider springs, Ajusa HG, Adjustable FPR, MBC, BOV, MSD coil, Walbro 255, ABS, EGR and balance shaft elim, 88/89 ECU, UEGO 02, new or rebuilt everything.

dang, sorry to hear about the engine problems.  You might as well build it if your going through all that work while you have it apart. You will thank yourself later.  When you get it all together (stock) your gonna be like.... damn another 100hp would be great.  Thats what I'm saying now after driving it for a summer.  Also, I need a cam those video clips sound sooo good.

Still have lots to do in the engine bay but the wiring harness is gone, the relays tucked and you can see my s13 steering rack conversion.

How much extra clearance does the 240 rack give you?
No, it's not a DeLorean. Stop asking.

No difference really I had the rack installed with the g54b.  I shortened the knuckles when I did it and have faster lock to lock with a tighter steering angle.

Very nice. Does the swap involve a lot of fabrication or is it relatively straightforward?

It's going to take some knowledge in welding/fabrication and steering design.
