I'm honestly  thinking of running it over on the passenger side up by the radiator support. There is nothing else that is going to be there and I've got 36" lines... Got plenty of room. Please keep an eye on my vette. I need all the help I can get :)

Did you get the r154 off the motor? I had the same problem. The only way I got it off was by removing the inspection cover and removing all the pressure plate bolts.

BOHO,
Did you get the tranny off yet?  Its very simple really- remember its a pull config and not a push set-up.  Bolt the thing back up to the block and reach in the the drivers side opening/dust cover and remove the fork by hand.  Push the fork forward towards motor and to the passengers side it will come right out and than the tranny will come right off.
Hope this helps if you are still having issues -

Sup,

I will try that. thanks for the advice. Do you have any pics of your setup? My e-mail is brturner@cox.net if you have any. The other thing...
What did you do for the alternator? Its a 3 wire and I'm not 100% on it. Thanks for the help again.

Ok...

I got the tranny off...It was the stupid clutch fork like Sup said...I'm just f'n retarded....

I'm glad I did...this clutch...is....gone...it may have held at stock boost for a while but geez...it doesn't look good. Does anyone know if the 1jz and 2jz had the same flywheel and clutch setup? I know the r154 will work with both but I don't know if its the same clutch....Thanks for the info guys.

Braden

From everything I gather on other forums..I just need a clutch kit for the 7mgte motor...Sound right?

1j/2j same flywheel -however the clutch kit will need to be 7m(Supra)

I have been working on mine way to long and still needs a few fabs like power steering lines and the interior put back together.  I didnt have to relocate the oli filter has I had plently of roon over the motor mount.  I also need to work out the oil pressure.  BOHO if you havent realized the 1jz has no sensor for the oil pressure but most use 7m sensor and tap into the oil housing.

One other thing....

Somehow...I ended up with an extra bearing after taking the tail section off of the trans and doing the shifter swap. I checked all 4 of the allen head bolts where the springs and ball detents are..They are all there..Any idea where an extra one came from...lol...s***

No 1jz and 2jz flywheels are not the same. But you need the mk3 clutch kit for the 1jz.

Vette- the flywheels are the same between 1j/2j however the bolt patterns for the clutchs are not- Thats why most peeps go with a 1jz fly when bolting it up to R154.  If you went 2j you can either bolt on a 1j flywheel or have it redrilled.  But sice BOHO has 1j the flywheels are interchangeable with 7m.

Man...I did not have a good day with the starion...

I was cutting and beating on the trans tunel and my drivers side jack stand shifted and fell...I was under the car. I was able to call a friend to come by and raise the car back up...my side is bruised to hell and back but I think I'm ok...Thas was the longest 30 minutes of my life...

After researching clutches..I decided to try this one first...because i just can't afford a new one right now...I lined it up...No I can't get the trans on the last inch...I must be off a hair or something....I also cut the radiator support because I didcked it up also...I'm going to drink a beer or 6 and try again tomorrow...I'm beat...

Damn man... Glad to hear you're ok. About 7 years back another member has his car fall on him. His eyes were vampire red after he got out from under it.

Holy crap man, I'm glad you're ok. I'm not sure there is enough of me to last if a car fell on me, though.

The 2jz never came with the r154, the came with the v160 (6spd turbo) and the w58(5spd NA) So when ordering a clutch for your 1jz go with the 7Mgte clutch kit or MK3 (86-92). now for the 2jz guys the flywheels between the jz motors are interchangeable but you have to specify which transmission you have when buying the clutch, same goes for the bell housing. Im using a south bend clutch kit, the OFE stage 3 http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/

I had my son helping me lower the motor and he let it down to fast, it bent the radiator support really bad. I just recently fixed it. Im glad to hear your ok, dont let this thing beat ya up just take your time.
