Project83 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Share Posted March 9, 2010 Does anybody know if the ECU temp sensors for the '84+ cars will work in a '83? Pics look the same, but that doesn't mean anything. I've been searching on here and through parts stores but short of having my local parts store order both in to look at them i can't tell if their even the same size as far as threads and what not. Main reason is the '84+ sensors price is about $18 and the '83 is $55-60 online and if i recall correctly i don't think they could even get the '83 sensor at my local parts store... but that could be something else I'm thinking of. FlattopMike Posted March 9, 2010 Report Share Posted March 9, 2010 They are most definitely different.They changed the thread pitch so it won't screw in.I think they made the change so that you could no longer put it in the wrong spot.Good luck finding a new one. Eh, i'll talk to them at the parts store again i guess. Every time i break down and try to work on this thing i'm reminded how 'Unique' 83's are again with this little stuff.
