  1. How bout a section where we can find out where to buy all this stuff. People say where they bought what and for what price with part numbers and such... It would make modding our cars not only a little easier (as you won't have to search for hours and hours)... it might even make it a little cheaper (for those that are fed up with searching and buy the first thing they come across that is for our cars when they could have found it cheaper)... And also, how bout a good/bad vendor list... Unless of course ALL of this is in the works... Then this thread is uneccessary...
  2. Something alone these lines... Why not do something like the www.dsm.org... You have the national club (www.starquestclub.com)... Then have your regional or state sponsored type club branch... Don't know if it would be as feasible as the DSM national and regional sites as there aren't NEARLY as many StarQuests out there... ???
  3. You don't have the bare minimum tools to work on a S/Q??? If you don't already know, the bare essentials you need and are relatively cheap are: 10mm open/box end wrench ratchet 10mm deep socket possibly a 6" extention phillips and standard screwdriver and the all important tool VISE GRIPS ;D This is about all you need to do minor work to your car (like getting your hood opened after the cable breaks). And those tools are all you need to do work on your car except when you go to change your spark plugs, then a spark plug socket would come in handy. And yes, you CAN remove pretty much the entire front end without being able to pop the hood, been there, done that.
  4. My partner and I are going to be getting ready to do all that kind of stuff. I was thinking about making a spare tire cover (like the stock one) with either Conquest or Starion on it so you know (like you don't know already) what kind of car you have. It will be more durable than the cardboard ones, but not made of fiberglass of carbon, too expensive in our opinions. Save the fiberglass and carbon for the bigger items (i.e. hoods, front air dams and things of that nature). It will be constructed of panel board and carpeting and automotive upholstery to match your wants/needs. We are in the process of making a Galant VR4 trunk lid cover that hopefully all of you that have one would want. We will be posting pics of it along with our MBC on our new dot com for custom parts and such as soon as is feasible for us to do. But for now, if you want this kind of thing, be patient, it's in the works.
  5. AWWWW... you cheated and went the easy route. When it happened to me, I did it the FUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN way. What you need is a 10mm wrench, and I believe a philips head screwdriver. Then, you start disassembling it from the outside, working your way ever deeper to the hood latch. Yes, not the easiest thing, but definitely fun if you are wanting to know how to get into the bay of someone else's StarQuest without setting off the alarm. ;D Took me about an hour. And to top that off, the reason I was trying to open the hood in the first place was a coolant leak.
