With the help of Harley-Davidson, Erik Buell answered a question nobody asked- Who wants to make an American sport bike? I saw the color and just had to have it. Still got it. This picture is circa April, 1995.

Thanks to Harley...No.

I love my Harley and Harley in general. With that said, they are some egotistical butt-heads.

It was a joint venture between HD and Erik. They supplied the hardware and he supplied the development and expertise. Had they left him alone and let him do his thing Buell would be a serious racing contender and HD would have benefited from the technological advancement Erik was incorporating.  Instead, they squashed his in-site and killed anything he brought to the table. HD appeals to the Sons of Anarchy wannabe's and fair-weather hard-tails. It makes them millions of dollars and they dont want change, they clearly demonstrated this with killing the  HD/Buell partnership to "focus on HD".  Meh.
