  1. I mounted mine above the glove box where there's a cross member. I think I will be moving it to the stock location since I am connecting through bluetooth now. Shawn
  2. I am a little old to this thread, but yes. I can't remember that members name and haven't met him at all. He works at UnderGround Racing. Sometimes when you drive by he has his car sitting out. Shawn
  3. I will try to make it again this year. However, this time in the Starion instead of the M. We'll see how things workout. Shawn
  4. Nice work, I was looking for one about 1.5 years ago. I was able to locate some, but they weren't cheap! Great work! Shawn
  5. I've done this more than once (timing out 180). There's an easy way to know. If the valve cover is off, look at the cam gear. There's a dowel pin on it. When number 1 is at TDC the dowel will point to the 12 o'clock position. Once you are at 12 o'clock set your distrib'. I'm sure you know how to set your distrib' from there. Here's something I made and posted a while back. It makes aligning the cam easier. I've installed the cam 1 tooth off a few times. This takes the guess work out of it. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=130406entry1277564 Shawn
  6. Ha ha, yeah I just saw this. It wouldn't be the first it happened to me. Not from HeroJr though. Beer me (craft beer) and I'm down with it. Shawn
  7. That's cool! I need to some of those that says, "Reserved for Shawn's Starion" and "Reserved for Shawn's M3." The wife isn't happy her car has to sit outside. Shawn
  8. Check with this seller, here's a link to his ebay page. http://myworld.ebay....=p2047675.l2559 http://www.importpar...ush Rod&mode=PA Here's the Clevite part numbers. Note the intake are "jet valve" rockers, but you don't have to install the adjuster. INTAKE 214-2136 Exhaust 214-2137 Shawn
  9. There are some on ebay, but they have to be cross referenced. I'll take a look for you later in the day when I have a block of time. I've always went hydro to mech, never the other way around. I didn't realize about the oiling issues. Shawn
  10. I wanted to reply to this really quick. My set I gave away to a board member here. My recommendation is to just buy the rockers from a parts store of ebay. You can use all the rest of your existing hardware. PM me if you need help. I would post more info, but my time is limited this morning. Shawn
  11. Bobby, I started replying to your email last night. Sorry I didn't finish it. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. Most shops here aren't going to check it. I have my guy we can go to. I will go with you when you are ready. There's also another shop close to me that will take care of it. Here we don't have to worry about a sniffer test, and most shops don't lift the car. I don't know what the difference between an OBDI and OBDII cat is. This is the first I heard about it. All the cat is doing, is super heating the inside of the cat to burn off emissions. You're car isn't offensive with the smell at idle. My m3 with a cat has a stronger smell than your car at idle (it's the tune). I honestly wouldn't worry about it. But if you want to put a cat on, I can weld it in place if you want. I spliced a cat on my Starion, because we had an emissions scare in Pennsylvania at the time. I ended up clamping it on so I could run a test pipe. Shawn
  12. E30! I have a Starion and love it, but also have a 328ic e36 and e46 M3 and love them too. From a quality standpoint, BMW all the way! Plus an E30 with a s52 in it is a nice little sleeper. Shawn
  13. I hope its something simple. I've actually put fuel in my bike that was so dirty it clogged the injectors and I couldn't start it. The pump was having problems. So it's possible that it happened to the fuel filter. I will say my non-oem pump was loud when it was under a great deal of pressure at idle. I had the FPR in backwards when I MPI'ed my car. Shawn
  14. From what you described it sounds like a fuel pump or a badly clogged fuel filter. Turn the key on and off sever times. When you turn it to the run position, leave it there until you hear the fuel pump stop priming. Then turn it off and repeat. The idea is to build pressure up. Then pull that same fuel line and see if it comes out. Have a rag handy to put around the area, it should be under a lot of pressure. I would suggest starting with a fuel filter before a fuel pump. Shawn
