Well since the body shops are all closed here in Socal, I cant get the Starion in to get the front end worked on, so I will start on the Eclipse. Need to drop the tranny to replace the clutch. First time doing a clutch on a FWD car, especially on this car with so many hoses and wires. Cant believe this thing was drivable when I got it. Their had to be only 2 or 3 vaccum lines that were correctly attached, or attached for that matter! The fuel vacuum sensor line went from the top connection to the bottom connection. attached to itself!

Looks good. Amazing how we all stick to the same cars.

Was planning on dropping the tranny, but ended up taking the turbo off. Found some other things the previous owner did that need repair. A coolant line (to the turbo) was blocked off with a oil drain plug, and the oil sensor wire was just wrapped around the post, the oil pan was installed with just orange RTV. Good thing is that their was not one spec of metal or anything in the pan.

Tranny drop is planned for today, but rain is coming and my car is unfortunately outside.

Also pictures of my new manifold and downpipe. Also, the intercooler just came as well.

I stumbled upon this one. Wasn't really looking for one, but couldn't pass it up. They are all really in ruff shape. This one needs paint, new leather, their is no carpet in the car, and lots of other small things. Strange thing is the top is fine. Usually that always needs replacing.

My wife and I had a red spyder for our wedding that I borrowed from a dealer that had it for sale.  I should have bought that car.  It was clean and had lower mileage.  I think it was a non-turbo, but it at least had the Mitsu 2.4L.  Somewhere I have photos, but I'm not sure where.

Never again will I do a clutch on an Eclipse. Finally got the tranny out and saw what I figured was the problem with the slipping clutch. The Fidanza flywheel friction plate is SHOT! I will be ordering a new insert today after I calm down from this tear down.

Someone liked to drop the clutch a little to much.

Getting the FWD tranny out isn't too bad, esp if you pull the axle.  You should try dropping one of the AWD trans that's bigger and bulkier.  It gets hung up on everything.

New stage 3 clutch and Fidanza flywheel insert came. Now I am just waiting on a couple new flywheel bolts. A couple i took off got damaged by my impact gun. The bolts were on their so tight with lock tight, the bolt tops got a little jacked up and I dont want to take a chance stripping them putting them on. $5 each, worth the piece of mind.
