Lotek Engineering offers a dual gauge pod for 87-89 auto seatbelts

They also offer a single pod for the 83-87 non auto seatbelts.

that's what I'm putting in mine.  I was keeping the boost gauge in the dash but I'd like it out to match up with the AF.  I guess if you wanted, you could throw an auto trans temp gauge in there.

I'd throw an EGT gauge in before anything if I had a vacancy in the pod or dash cluster, second would be a fuel pressure gauge.

Just my .02

Mike,

Might be a dumb question but EGT is exhaust temp. guage?

What is a good one to order and what is an approximate cost?

I want to put boost guage in stock location so I am not wasting space.

Going to put a/f and something else in dual guage pod.

I wonder how they look at night lit up.

They have an orange yellow lighted illumination to them, like a standard gauge usually looks, kinda like the stock gauges.

As a side note: Westach gauges owner Paul Westach is the brother of the founder of AUTOMETER.

Westach has been around much longer than Autometer and if you ask me the gauges are a step up from Autometers, not only in accuracy but also construction. Glass lensed gauges aren't a standard anymore like they once where.

Any dual pods out there that are a simple side by side deal that just mounts right on top of the dash above the speedo and tach, etc.  shaped kinda like this:? ? ??

(the Os are the gauges)

Would be nice to not have gauges near the line of sight of the "christmas tree" when drag racing in the right lane.

Never thought of that.

Also, do these a pillar pods have to be melted and formed to fit, or is it a direct fit - do they screw in, glue?

The one's listed under a Mits. Starion should fit without melting and require a screw in method.  The "universal" ones need to be cut with scissors and melted with a hairdryer? <-- as it said on one of the listings above.  If it will melt by a hairdryer I wouldn't want that in my car during the summer!  All locked up it gets hot enough in there to fry eggs on the dash.

Please let me know about my alternatetive pod mounting....if it exists.

Thanks,

-Matt

Figured I would throw this in the FAQ incase anyone wanted to do it.

I had a Auto meter dual gauge pod laying around from an old 1G DSM of mine.

Put it upto the A-pillar, and bam! it fit.

The only thing that needs to be done with it, is the top corner needs to be trimmed for the seat belt.

So, if you have one laying around, or can get one cheap, it will work.
