  1. i have a 88 conquest ran great for awhile then one day it started to lose pressure at about 3500 rpm right before it goes into boost. problem gets much worse once the engine heats up. does the same thing in every gear. If i stay on the gas it will kinda start to almost want to pull threw and start to boost for a second but then bogs down. I had the injectors blown out. and also replaced the oxygen sensor along with the mass air sensor... could it be a vacuum leak? if so how do i find where it is? please any help would be awesome. thanks
  2. i did not know that was possible everyone always told me that the 88 89 were way better cars then the 86 because of the ecu and wire harness... well what i would like to do is what you guys mentioned. i also was wondering if i could put my first gen mass air i have on my 88 on my 86. i like the cone filter and i noticed a big difference in my 88 when i upgraded to the the mass from the stock 88 to the 1st gen cone housing. can i make the 1st gen work on my 86....
  3. it depends i have everything at my house including both cars side by side. so you can do this? how much would this coast me? I came to the conclusion that i want to keep the 86 and sell the 88.
  4. i need the 88 to run after thats why i want to put the 86 to the 88. the 88 is a clean conquest. but i dont need 2 conquest. so i wanna sell the 88. the 86 my dad has had since he bought it in 86 so it needs to stay in the family. the 88 i bought so i can sell it.
  5. hello i have both a 88 and a 86 conquest and i wanted to do a wire harness transfer to make the 88 a 86 and 86 the 88.... any ideas where to start is there anyone out there that can perform this for me i live in whittier CA. let me know if this is possible and how much it would coast me... thanks
  6. is there an aftermarket upgraded ecu for the starion? one that you can make adjustments to you fuel system yourself?
  7. yes the intercooler will be included into the total price, however if some1 just wanted the intercooler or the hard pipes alone that could be arranged. The pipes are being made to fit with the intercooler, so if some1 just wanted the pipes they would have to mod the stock ic. i am still trying to decide if i should have the 3" pipe that comes off the turbo and holds the air filter made with ports or without ports....what do you guys think people would be more interested in?
  8. My ebay feedback is 100% although i have only sold like 19 items or something...My dad has owned his 86conquest since he bought it new in 86, i have always loved the car and finally when i turned 16 it was my everyday driver. However eventually i wanted to mod it and my dad wanted to keep it stock. so i went out and bought myself a 88 conquest. The car i bought came with tep hard pipes. After studying those pipes and figuring out why they didn't fit right i started playing with them to allow a proper fit. Then said screw it and finally found the right place to have my hard pipes made. I personally went down to costa mesa and got a chance to walk through the shop the pipes and intercoolers will be made. I got to see the actual bending and fabrication process first hand. So i gave them my dimensions and got started. I wish i had pics but they currently have the pipes they always keep the first prototype set as a reference. I am in no way asking for anyone to send me money before they see these pipes. Once i get my set back i will post many many pics of the pipes in my starion and every1 can geta good idea for themselves. I am just asking around to see who would be interested... this way instead of getting them made 1 or 2 at a time i can order a larger number and offer a better price to those who may want them. Like i said in i really just want to offer others a complete hp kit. there is only one person who sells them as of now and alot of people on this site have had issues with him and his attitude. To tell you the truth any1 can go out and get a set of ahp made for there car. Its just who is willing to take the time to do it. I decided to take the time to do it, so i am offering to help any1 out who is interested in converting all of there intercooler hoses and pipes to 2.5 ahp sorry for the rambling ina bit of a rush. I will be happy to post pics asap. the purpose of this forum is to get a idea who is interested. if you would like to wait to see what other say about the pipes i think that would be a good idea if you a abit skeptical *apollo*
  9. I decided i wanted to offer starquest owners a full 2 1/2" hard pipe kit with an upgraded intercooler. The intercooler will be just slightly bigger then *DM's version and the pipes will fit beautiful into our cars. as of now we are looking at about 4 weeks until the kits will be ready to ship. I wanted to know who might be interested so i can get a better idea how many i need to pick up. Hard pipes will come polished. Those of you who would like to have them powder coated black that can be arranged as well. I will be selling the kits with couplers and clamps included. although if for some reason you have your own or don't need the couplers and clamps the kits can be sold without them for a lower price. pricing will be anywhere from 450$ to 650$ with everything. It really depends on how many sets i pick up... the more people that want them the less ill be able to sell them for. The main reason I am doing this is not to make money, but to help out others like me. I have had very bad experiences with *DM much like others on this site, and i wanted to offer people a great product without having to deal with a rude snake of a salesman. So here they are, full aluminum hard pipes kits with huge stock replacement intercooler for anyone who believes in the golden rule!!!! lol
  10. whats the best way to check the vac advance where did you get ur replacement?
  11. i need 1 16x9 rear wheel if it was already polished that would be a plus but ill take what i can get. i have a full set of the 7 and 8's if any1 would like to trade a full set for just 1 wheel 1 16 x 9 polished i would do it...
  12. i have a 87 that i use as a parts car. it ran fine and didnt have the shutting down issue i have....I used that fuel pressure regulator and those injectors and found that i had the same problem... is it possible that the parts i interchanged could be bad as well even tho the car didnt have the same problems?
  13. can you tell me where is a good place to get a fuel pressure gauge system? that would be great...thanks man
  14. how can i go about finding the fuel leak?? where is the most likely place it would be leaking from?
  15. when i turn off my starquest the engine does not shut off smooth. Its more of a ruff shut down if that makes sense...I dont know how to describe it other then the word clunk and bump. lol if i were to guess it seems like the fuel pump is continuing to pump gas in the engine after it shut off, or perhaps there are a few last minute sparks that are causing this to happen.... Sometime it is worse then other times, and sometimes it sounds rill bad and it takes a minute to start the car after. almost like the engine is flooded. I recently changed the fuel pump and distributer cap. I upgraded to the walbro 255 pump i wander if that has anything to do with it...... any ideas how i can go about correcting this problem? any help would be awesome!!! i am totally lost on this one. thanks *apollo*
