Hello again everyone! Since joining the forums and talking with some of you, I have decided to restore my car with a G54B powertrain for the time being! So I'll introduce the car by sharing how it looked when I bought it. I picked up my Atlantic Blue 87 Conquest from a guy in Atlanta on Craigslist. He did tell me it had a minor accident in 1988 which was repaired, and then was a victim of flooding in Austell, Georgia about 10 years ago. I am definitely wary of the fact that this is a flood car, but the bodywork is overall in good shape save for a few rust spots. Since the images in the first gallery, I have started to disassemble the car, and I will show my progress as I continue working. I look forward to learning more about these cars and to getting this one back on the road! If you have any advice or questions for me, please let me know. I look forward to the blood, sweat, and tears it will take to bring this car back to life!

Progress update! Over the past few days I've been working on the teardown and assessing the car's current condition. I know that I'll need to spend some time and attention on getting a good wiring harness in the car, I've looked online but can't seem to find anyone making replacement harnesses for this car unfortunately! The interior of the engine bay's waterproof connectors actually do look okay, though so maybe I can get away with reworking my current harness! Beyond that, everything has come out pretty easily so far and I haven't seen too much rust beyond surface rust. There is one spot under the brake booster which is in the pictures. Check out the progress pictures below!

All of your rebuild kits/gaskets can be found from Randy in OHIO...He runs a machine shop and he is a SQ enthusiast...

It would be nice if you get those photos/comments on here.  How did that engine on the stand get so rusty?

I would, but photobucket blurs everything out now and I can't upload my pictures directly because they are too large! Is there another way I'm not aware of? The engine on the stand was given to me when I bought the car, I have no idea, but I think the bores are workable, so I'll take it to a machine shop to have it cleaned up!

I used to use photobucket.  I use imgur now.  I might get my photobucket back now that their rates are more reasonable.

I picked up a parts car the other day, the plan is to get it running and see what I can use from it! Pictures will be incoming later!

It's an '87 flatty with an automatic, but most of the underhood parts and interior parts may be usable for me. I will likely be parting the rest of the car out as it can't get a title in my state, so if you need anything let me know!
