  1. the sound chip up and dying is not very likely. browse the internet until you find the sound driver for your laptop, download it but don't install yet, then go to the update drivers and components tab in control panel and select sound driver and search for the update on your computer. the same thing happened to my girls HP and they said it was a fried chip but I researched and wouldn't ya know it, the update was right on the hp site!
  2. My best goes out to you and your family, I am sure he is resting in peace now.
  3. Lost my grandma about 2 months ago, she did not play a huge role in my raising but it still hurt like hell when she left so I can't even begin to emagine your pain. Good luck bro
  4. check all your vaccum lines. 1 small leak and boom!! no boost or boost cut to soon. I had a hole the size of a pin prick in mine so naturally i saw no leaks because it evaporated any coolant leaked from the heat but it was enough to cut my boost down to only 5 psi from my regular 13. check them all especially the metal ones and tighten all your connections again. then start suspecting your turbo. start cheap then go big, or sell it.
  5. look at the bottom of the front end, then the vipers, same cross section air inlets just different fog light locations. but yeah the probe was a mutt for sure, aside from the front wheel drive In my opinion ford nailed it with the second gen. probe gt. The focus is cool and competes well against each car in it's class, my only fear with this one is that mitsu and subaru always have something better, i suspect mitsu's newest lancer will get a makeover and put the focus to rest, oh yeah, and if we brought that focus here mitsu can always drop the price on the lancer evo and then bamm!! Ford looks like it made another mistake, The fact is we are always one step behind them in public but 2 steps ahead at the factory, we just need to meet somewhere in the middle and start acting on instinct with the cars, notice that the fiesta gets close to the same mpg as the prius? but which was here first and which is cheaper right? If Obama opens up more trade lines with japan, europe, and russia (I know you guys are like what?? but russians go ape s*** over ford trucks and the mustang, as well as the focus and fusion models) we could actually open up some jobs over here when a new mitsu plant opens on our soil or at least get us some jobs in sales right? sorry, I got way off topic with this!!! oh well It's a plain ol' bs forum for a reason right? haha! but that focus is sick and after researching a bit on my own I do see it as a competitive car in it's class, not an all out dominator, but it will have it's strengths.
  6. yeah that was the probes biggest fault, massive wheel hop from a full on launch and that torque steer, but let's say they make the probe a rear-wheel drive with a tiny v-8? or larger v-6? either way a stock turbo or supercharged version would be nice. But this is taking away from the current topic and If the probe became rear wheel drive with a v-8 might as well call it a rattlesnake (the second gen front end looked suspiciously like an economical version of the viper didn't it?) So... Back to the kick a** focus rs! (I would much rather get a 2010 gt 500 kr for the record!)
  7. ok before you all go bustin a nut over this thing, america does not really have a huge turbo car gathering yet, and the biggest factor in why this thing would not sell so hot right now is the economy!! No one could afford it!! They should have offered alot more performance cars from the factory from the start, almost every car ford made that got that svt or shelby or sho tune up after factory completely outshined the cars in their class, the problem was that most of them came too late or the parts were way to expensive to keep up with them because when we had money more than 90 percent of americans would rather buy a new car when they needed new brakes than fix it up, why is the economy so bad?? We are lazy as hell and should have maintaned our cars from the start instead of buying a new one every time something went wrong!! If ford really wants to sell some more cars they need to bring back the probe, nothing else in the world handled like the second gen. gt. I have seen some pretty sick probes out there and if the svt at ford got their hands on one it would be sick as hell!!!!
  8. alright i guess the starting price is 3500 obo. I can only e-mail pics for some reason it wont let me upload.
  9. Alright, I have an 87 Starion esi-r model. All original, white exterior dark red interior. 5 speed. In great shape only visual problem is of course the cracked lower front clip, other than that not much rust at all, only a few dime sized spots on lower panels which can be easily sanded over and repainted. it is completely driveable now, a/c is in car but needs the belt to make it work. this car is in great shape with only 83k original miles! I can send pictures to you all but it looks pretty much what an 87 that was taken care of should look like, clear coat slightly faded but nothing a little wax wouldnt fix up! so make some offers! I do know what it is worth tho, so please dont low-ball me and save yourself some time. PM for the pics!
  10. thats the one i am going to check, I might as well go open downpipe though since I will have it up on the lift tonight anyways to replace the muffler. I have never really dealt with a stock turbo motor before with a computer boost control, all my other ones were aftermarket manually controlled but i never ran higher than 15 psi and that was with a garret t3/4 hybrid on a 96 probe gt so it with plenty of support mods so it could take it. I am really mad about letting that car go but I got a good deal on it.
  11. the cat is new, i will still check it out but it is moslty open high flow from borla
  12. it is an aem boost gauge analog style. I am going to fix the current issue before upping boost, I also have an aem wideband fuel air gauge and it reads normal until it cuts off the boost, then it goes nuts on the high end.
  13. I tapped into each coil with volt testers and it is firing properly. even when it bogs down it fires properly. I didn't buy it because it is msd so it must be good... I have had msd coils on every vehicle i have every owned except my ninja, they have never failed on me and why change a good pattern right? It is why I currently have a beard... ITS THE PLAYOFFS AND THE WINGS ARE GONNA TAKE IT AGAIN!!! By the way I know it is a temp. gauge I am not completely absent minded when it comes to cars! I have checked most of the hoses and soaped them up but cannot find a bubbly leak anywhere!! I am going to try the turbo tonight, The nuts seemed tight but I have not checked them all... Thanks for the tip. Oh... Do you know if the adding "T" valves to the vacuum lines really adds boost pressure?? I just don't understand how that would work.
  14. It is an 87 Starion. Stock everything except blaster 2 coil wires and plugs. all else is stock. I know not to boost a cold motor it would be nice to not bog out at 2 psi though! I am not eager to blow it up at all, it only has 80k on the whole body so i want it to last at least 100k more. I want to boost more than 7 psi and have replaced all the gaskets and changed all fluids less than 100 miles ago. I am taking care of it and want it to last a long time, I know it can take 10-12 psi without any fuel mods needed but I run 93 octane with the orange stp additive about every 3 times to clean it out. It has new plugs, injectors are clean and good flow, I don't really want to go completely standalone with the fuel system either so I was debating on 2 options, a 17c turbo or just up the boost to 10 psi on this one. either way i am going to get 1000cc injectors made by millenia. I also dont want to drop another 600 into it right now.
  15. My boost is acting very weird and hopefully you guys can help me out here. When the engine is cold or just starts up I can't get more than 2psi in the first 2 gears without it bogging down and the turbo blowing like crazy! then it heats up and holds up to about 5-7 psi, if i am WOT it might hit 8 psi but it is really stuttering and I can here it relieving pressure like crazy, no whistle or anything like a BOV but more like pulsating bursts of air. Is this just the stock computer telling it to stop boosting or what? also is there any way to easily get more boost pressure out of the stock turbo? I saw the adding T's to the vacuum lines thing and wondered if that was the easiest way to do it and where can I get those T's at? I have the air/fuel gauge and that says all is good and the blaster 2 coil is working perfectly with the ngk plugs as well. Listened to it at idle and revved up but I cannot here a leak anywhere! I guess It is holding pressure fine when warmed up I just want to be able to go WOT for more than a few seconds without upgrading my stock turbo yet. Can someone give me a detailed way to increase my stock psi inexpensively or remove that computer cut limit??
