Very cool, that bushing kit seems a bit expensive... I really like the maf lid though! Says for 86 only, may fit 87 ? I wonder if it does, anybody using this on their 87 ? Or anybody know if the maf lid size is the same on 86 and 87 ?

I saw the MAF lid a few weeks ago. I like it, but if he wants to make money on that part he needs to make for the 87-89. Catering to one year is sorta limiting.

Just recently launched that, the confusing part is they are still selling stuff under the MK1 / Mookeeh name as well.

I wonder if it's another person who has a deal with MK1 and they get some of the products and resell them.   Or someone who makes the new stuff and markets it under the well known MK1 brand...

I don't know how it works.

Starionpartsfactory.com is the website, it's been around for years but the sales are mostly via eBay.. 101Propose was the name of the vendor, he left but that name is still on the ebay account. MK1/Mookeeh is the parts company name, same thing.

Yep, exactly what fuze said. 101purpose or whatever was a member here and was the guy who pushed for mk1 to build SQ stuff for the community. After the header debacle and then the stainless exhaust GB turned into such a drama, he had enough. Im sure the old threads are still floating around. I've had a set of their poly bushings on the shelf for years. The aircan maf lids are a new item.

Thanks Allen. I appreciate it. But like I said. Itís a free market. So more power to them. Competition only make things better for the community. It lowers prices and makes things available that never were before.

Not many vendors have that kind of integrity. When the choice is to buy something made in the US by actual SQ people vs overseas, I will spend a couple extra bucks to get something made here. I give MK1 props for making weird parts that nobody else makes though. Jeez, I had the whole catalog on my car at one point and all the CF stuff is still holding up.

That stainless header was one of the best parts I ever bought. Installed it for one day. Didn't like the sound of it and decided it wasn't going to work. Had guy trade me a "modded by Chad" Magna intake straight up for it. SOLD!
I wonder how many of those sold? I see they are still available on Ebay, just not under the 101Propose seller.

I have been running a set of their poly bushings for close to 10 years now. Every poly since then has come from our friends at GNT ;)

This piece of junk right here.

https://www.ebay.com...uRVX4eg&vxp=mtr

The welds and stuff looked ok, but the tubing is way to thin, and they crack and break apart very easily. Several guys have tried to add bracing to support the weight of the turbo, reinforce the welds with bigger welds, etc. but they always just break beside where it is welded because of inferior metal. I have heard that some people had ok luck with them lasting for a little while, but most folks that tried them, had them crack within the first couple hundred miles. One guy even stated that his wastegate wound up in the highway because of the thing breaking apart on him while driving. Seems like I have to tell about 6 or so newbies every year to stay away from this part because they just see a cheaper option that looks nice on eBay.

Oh ok. Ive seen that manifold plenty of times. It was on one of my parts car I picked up out of Atlanta last year. I just never knew it was made by MK1.  I figured it was a Chinese-made no brand name pos....

It is, but it was sold under the mk1 banner the first time I remember seeing it. They farm out most of their work to manufacturers over seas. My guess is that someone else picked up the design thinking they will still sell to new owners who don’t know any better. I’ve seen them on eBay for as much as $400-500, and as cheap as $75.

Yeah the header debacle is what caused 101 Propose to leave the forum. Back then I believe he was dealing with returns and some irate members. I used to talk to him a lot back then. Sucks though to have a manufacturer build you a crate of dud parts that you then need to deal with, bad for business and bad for customers.

I guess either 101 is still around lurking at MK1 somewhere or somebody else has a Starion there and knows which parts people need that aren't made. It's not a small thing for a company to be making new Starion parts so I encourage people to support them when there's no option like GNT to choose from. Everything I have from MK1, and it's a lot, is still working well.
