Don't like the outdated dash, decided to go the route of Convette and create my own.

Started with the center console:

Fuel Pressure - Oil Pressure - Voltmeter

Looks like it will be very nice when finished. Carpet would hide the wood base leaving the aluminum exposed. Nice

Just wondering, would you be willing to make a couple while you're at it?

Leesfer im local,,when can I come by and pick one up...no shipping lol

I wish I could make them consistently! I am totally new to this, so it's really just messing up a lot before getting something that looks good

Lots of trial and error and learning on my part throughout this project

Going to pad the wood and cover it in some kind of material, not sure what yet.

Going to vinyl wrap the aluminum in carbon fiber, I'm afraid leaving the aluminum exposed will show too many faults in my bends and scratches

Another idea you might consider is getting the aluminum done in hydrographics...interior parts look awesome when done, and it stands up a lot better than vinyl...speaking from experience lol. And the clearcoat is very forgiving to any surface faults.

A friend of mine does it. Check this link I posted on his behalf...the second video shows how it's done. I'm sure there's places local to you that do it as well.

That hydrographic stuff looks pretty cool.

Started to bend up sheet aluminum into place. Not very good at it though, will need to figure out a way to fix the larger dents in the metal then cover it with something

Are you going to retain the factory climate control box or modify one from another car?

If you use a different cars climate box with electronic controls, id suggest a Nissan titan heater core valve. Its electronic and would be easy to wire up.

Actually not going to be using climate control, but that's a good suggestion

This is a a completely bare-bones track car only, plus I live in San Diego and our perfect weather doesn't really require climate control ;)

Sorry can't weigh anything since I have been throwing things away as I pull them out, don't have much room to work so I need to clear as much space as possible

Planning on weighing the car when I am done to get a total weight though
