  2. are all years of this car checked this way? i think i saw somehere that earlier models have the connectors in the engine bay....not sure but someone who knows breakdown for us which years have the connector behind the glove box and which years don't.
  3. even after the GP, Rich still came thru with a Marnal head for me for not much more than what was paid during the GP!!! Â guy is unbelievable. Â I got the head in good time (even after a Marnal screw up...they were waiting for the head to be sent to them from their NY warehouse in order to ship to me from Cali to OH--imagine that... Â Richie straightened that out). The head is spot on and looks good enough to eat...hehe. Ok, he's real!
  4. JAinsworth is simply the best....if anyone doesn't like it, well then too tough -- it's my opinion!!! Â I have had nothing but the best experience with this guy and i don't understand why my recommendations keeps getting removed.... he's helped me out several times!!! thanks bro...much appreciated! I have received two packages from JAinsworth: Package one was an '89 ECU. Â I don't recall the part number. Â It was shipped before i sent payment sometime this year (last month - January) and it arrived in great condition. Â All that he asked was for me to return the item in case i didn't like it before making payment. Package two is an 88 ISC and 89 wiring harness. Â I'm not sure of the part numbers either and i received it 02-19-2003. Â I just sent payment for this item also (02-20-2003) Â This is simply how the man operates and even though he could well run into an unscrupulous person, he continues to help people out. he offered to ship me a part that i needed for my cylinder head. Â will be going to look for this item at the parts store today 02-20-2003 (before i take him up on his offer if i hit rock bottom). Â I'll supply the part number if i am lucky on here.

  7. looks can be deceiving. maybe we need some test data to know which actually is stiffer. on first impression, when i saw the pictures above, thought it looked much beefier but seeing it again now, not so sure....looks can indeed deceive.. Mango....have you received yours yet? Â mine is really shiny....quite light!! Â I'm happy with it... ;D ;D
  8. I take it converting to the '89 ECU should be about the same as the instructions for the 88 ECU or? I have the '86 Star, an 86 Shop Manual and an '89 ECU but not the '89 manual so a bit difficult for me to cross reference. :-/ :-/ If have the information available, please add to this post. Thanks....

  14. The title of your post got me all excited because I also had something that will fit under that title perfectly but of a different bent. Here goes: As can be read on the feedback forum, some people have been ripped off, some for significant amounts of money. There may be many more people some of whom have chosen to remain silent for reasons known only to themelves. I suggest a NEW FOR SALE FORUM be created and handled such: An agreement required to be acknowledged by anyone who wishes to post something for sale on that new board whereby 1) they agree to provide a valid address and for a fee, a postcard can be sent to that address which must be returned....you pay for value. 2) A valid phone number and also for a fee, there'd be verification. 3) Direct links of all such seller profiles to a feedback thread relevant to the seller. 4) An agreement that starquestclub can't be held liable but will admit into this club only people with a certain number of posts and positive feedback. Add to the list people. This way, you can choose to deal with the fellas out there on a "loose" for sale board blindly or get an additional measure of safety...not up to ebay levels but some level of comfort all the same. The programming wouldn't be that difficult either....it'll only make some shysters thinks twice since they have agreed to release some info even before hand.
  15. > > > Swindlers in our midst? Â It's become a necessity that I post this here to stop others from getting swindled as well. My money order was for $30.00 for an intake manifold....sent to: Michael L. - Fort Worth, Texas Money order was cashed on the 19th of November. Â Repeated attempts to contact this person before the 19th and thereafter have been unsuccessful. Well now you know fellow questers...we need to purge the chaff from our midst!
