Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've made a post, but I've figured out most of my issues and kinks with the rebuild since I've last been on! Right now the Conquest is running 100% and is pulling really nice. Now that everything is running correct stock I'm going to start slowly upgrading and I was thinking, what better than a faster shift setup. I've personally never done a short throw shifter before and I'm wondering if any of you have done it to any of your Starquests (I'm sure some of you have). What setup are you running, and how would I get it done exactly? I feel like it should be something fairly simple I've just never done one before.

Pretty simple and I strongly suggest a bent GNT unit. Running it in both of mine.

Where do they sell them if you remember? Are they car specific?

GNT are members and vendors on here, just go to the vendor section and you’ll find them easy. I also recommend Squrlsquashes “clutch pedal slop fix kit”. You’ll find it in the parts for sale section

Is that for when you clutch pedal gets stuck halfway coming up after shifting? because my clutch pedal definitely does that. I appreciate the information.

No the kit removes the play in the pedal that has developed over the years.

Ah, well mine was sitting for a good 15 years. Don't feel much play yet. When I'm shifting my pedal only comes up about half way unless I drop the clutch. Still catches the gear though, so I guess it's not that big of a issue.

That sounds like either a slave or master cylinder issue.  Could just be that you need to drain the fluid and put fresh fluid in since the car has been sitting so long.

We already did all of that. My old man said it should work itself out over time. Dude who had it before me greased the god damn petal inside of the car because of the issue originally. It was a slave but he wasn't exactly the brightest tool in the box. Might have just left a sticky residue that's causing it to get caught. Could just need better bled as well, but I put hours in trying to fix it lol. Adjusted the petal and all.

They should update the note about the base gaskets since they offer them now
