D_Venable
Well, I finally got my Durban to Minnesota after being here for 3.5 years. Loaded up and ready to leave Ohiohttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/306019_514133177262_143100245_30254334_1616449872_n.jpg Arriving in Minnesotahttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/Conquest3.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/Conquest2.JPG And off the trailer (had to put the Sparcos back on because the front wheels were dragging on the tie-rods because of the RCAs that are installed)http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/Conquest.jpg And today, I didn't work on this car, but I took the struts off the DTHSTAR so that I can swap to the artinist (Anti-M) sleeve-overs (Cosmo's are sold) and swap to the widebody front housings I have shortened already.http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4080821.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4080822.jpg LOTS more to come, but I'm sure it'll be slow progress -Derek Edited April 8, 2012 by D_Venable

D_Venable
Yay! How'd the pickup do? Truck did awesome. A lot better than I expected. got 13.5-13.8 mpg with the car in tow, and 18+ on the way out empty. I was expecting 10-11mpg tops. pretty good for a gas V8 in my mind. Joe, it's mainly gonna be front wheel well tubbing, partial wire tuck, drift bumper, put a finish on the roof rack feet and build a bicycle rail for the roof rack. OH and of course the SLAMMING of it. Bags will have to wait till I have the money to drop on a nice setup for that, but it doesn't mean I won't be testing for clearances with my 18's sooner. OH and project headlights, will be a lot like Convette's setup (been sketching that one out for years, just haven't built it) so I know I'm gonna get the copy-cat comments. But I'll be using Hella 60mm projectors as I already have them. DURBAN LOVE indeed Joe
D_Venable
SO, just did a little messing around today with it. lowered it some on the struts it had some more (running the artinist sleeveovers I'm going to transfer to the MR2 setup) put the Sparcos back on with spacers (15mm up front, but haven't swapped the hub with the trimmed lugs, so the wheel doesn't completely seat) propped the Drift bumper up (I won't be running the stock intercooler, I'll be using the one from the DTHSTAR) and set the roof rack on her. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4110823.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4110825.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4110824.jpg -Derek

creakyjoints
How much room do you think you have on the inside of the rear tire? I like how it sits on the outside just seems like there needs to more tire on the inside of the wheel well? Might just be the angle of the shot though. D_Venable
Those are 265/35r18's, and I want to run 285/30r18's in their place
D_Venable
DTHSTAR's struts tore down. I'm gonna repaint the rear housings, and I still have some prep work to do on the shortened widebody housings. These Cosmo sleeve-overs are sold, so I've gotta pull the Anti-M's off the car still. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4150831.jpg
D_Venable
Short term plans are changing, I'm gonna swap over the suspension, put the big brake kit on while I go through the brake system, swap the clutch out (and figure out that systems little issue) swap head gaskets, and rock it as is for the summer. Only body mod in this time frame is gonna be rolling the fenders, but a little more delicately than I did with the DTHSTAR, lol She up in the air now http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4190832.jpg -Derek

D_Venable
I'll take Burgandy as well as Durban Maroon, but it's not purple, mines not like Paul's were it's 25 year old faded paint (looks a little more "purplish") When the paint is fresh (mine was resprayed 12 years ago by my father) the red metallic really shows up in the sunlight. It also helped we used a light gray primer over a dark gray or black primer, so Mine came out being a bit brighter/lighter than the stock Durban Now, as for my car, I think I found the cause of the 2 main issues (other than the headgasket)... My brake master cylinder is all rust, as is the top of the steering box, so I think I'm gonna just swap the master and booster from the DTHSTAR, and pull the ABS off and run my abs delete line I bent up. The clutch issue I am almost certain is the slave cylinder, boot is ripped (don't know how long it's been like that either) so that'll come from the DTHSTAR too. some quick easy fixes for the major issues, but I'm still gonna go ahead and swap clutch from the DTHSTAR as well (it's not a 6-puck) till I rip this motor out this coming winter or next spring to clean up/re-organize the engine bay. Pics later, I'm gonna start ripping the struts out
D_Venable
SO... pics What I believe to be causing the clutch pedal to not move http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4200839.jpg Why my brake pedal went to the floor, and the reason the reservoir is empty (except for a bit on the side that feeds the front brakes) http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4200841.jpg Got the front struts out, I started on the rear, and remembered I had to remove the trim in the hatch, which I didn't feel like doing, so I stopped for the night. Front Struts, SHP units Anti-M sleeve-overs, and Mookeeh RCA's http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4200842.jpg -Derek

D_Venable
so along with the other stuff, when I went to start taking out the rear struts on Friday, I found something I didn't like... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4230843.jpg Passenger side outer cv boot ripped BAD. I haven't even looked at the driver's side, or the inner boots yet, but I stopped at Napa today and ordered the 4 new boots for her, and got the pliers for the clamps. D_Venable
All struts are out, as are the halfshafts, yeah, both need rebuilt. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4240844.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P4240845.jpg -Derek
D_Venable
Got this far and found out my c-clip pliers don't open far enough to get the clip off.
