Color combo schemes, using OEM styling...ideas?

I was talking with a fellow member about creating a nice set of decals for his ride...even though he's ordering something different than this, it got me thinking:

I've been wondering why no one has tried red on black (if they have, I've never seen it... but I can't see it never being done), I think that would look awesome.

  • Red logos all around with "red reflective" CONQUEST TSi rear hatch decal
  • red/clear contour cut TSi fender decals
  • 'maybe' a subtle thin red pinstripe from front fenders back and up around the windows (didn't have time to add it to the image).

It's a pretty crappy quick Photoshop, but I think it would look pretty damn awesome, especially if someone were to powdercoat/paint their calipers red too!.

Thoughts? Heck post up your own ideas, who knows...it may end up awesome, you never know till you see it!

I think red on black looks hot...first saw it when you did Jerry's rear hatch spoiler decals.

Thats a good photoshop on my Pics natallica. Back in 97' when I used to own my 2nd conquest (also a black on black 89) I had a red pin stripe going along the sides and on top of the hood. It looked nice!

I would be interesting to remember all the decal colors that were available from Chrysler back in the day. I know I have seen Conquests with white, Silver, Gold, Black, not sure if red or orange decals....and the were original, just don't remember the color combinations.....Tha information should be in any of the advertisement catalogs and brochures...

I know I've seen orange on Rio 87's but I thought most after that were white or black. I have an 88 brochure, but it only tells you about the car itself, performance ratings and what-not. Dealer catalog with color chips and accessories parts numbers may be a source of info.

Yeah that red really pops

Now here is my 2 cents

Flat black decals

That is all

can easily be done, Sir

hell yeah. That looks awesome, very subtle. I went to the all red/black scheme this year. Its funny cause in my 15 years of owning this car, its been red accented with white, black, yellow, red, chrome, lol Gotta keep it fresh.

I have some of that red cop car reflective vinyl, would be good on the rear to replicate the orignal's reflective properties. Have you messed with the frosted vinyl, makes gloss look matte without changing the color? Big metal flake and rainbow reflective might be hot too. A kit for the whole car would be good. I can do any color (for the most part) and the sides would be just like OEM (clear decal, thermally printed color). But I've been holding off on offering them up publicly because there's already a vendor for those. Don't wanna step on toes!

We are not commies, this is a free market. If it was a direct copy of someone's part they designed, then yes... there would be an issue but decals in OEM style, the only issue is with the manufacturer.

Don't NOT sell your stuff, just because I sell something similar. Vendors selling similar items brings competition, and competition will keep the quality up and prices down for all the members of the community. Maybe you can come in and provide something with the same quality, for cheaper. If you can, awesome. I'm actually about to have to raise the prices on all my products because my wife is changing jobs and I will be losing her shipping hookup. So, my decal sets will be going back up to $35 shipped from $30. However, all of my staller decals like GSR-VR, and door handle size turbo stickers will be staying the same. Besides, no skin off my teeth if I lose some decal biz... I only make $3 a set and that's a lot of weeding for $3. I'd prefer to keep my cutter running nothing but tint skins... less weeding and much higher profit margins. Edited by Burton
